I’m confused. When I search on the net if Costco still fitting severe / profound, mostly what I find is about Phonak / Sonova dropping Costco and Kirkland Signature lines. I see conflicting articles where Costco does not fit my hearing loss anymore and articles which Sonova branded aids comes to Costco. I guess I should call Costco and ask but I wanted to get your thoughts or experiences on fitting severe / profound aids in 2026 from Costco.
I currently have the impression where Costco will only fit from mild to severe loss. Can someone set me straight please?
Yeah there’s been a bit of debate about this, but the fact is they do severe profound losses, they have models that are suitable in “most cases” but not all, by that I mean profound in the lower frequency is gonna be problematic for them, they have ReSound Enzo and Rexton HP, but not the Phonak Naida or UP ’s so this is the limitations.
Your loss would be managed with most models from Costco.
Costco sells the Jabra Enhance Max Super Power (that’s the name they are using) which is a rebadged Resound Enzo IA. This aid is for severe / profound hearing loss and it is Resound most powerful hearing aid .
My opinion is that Costco selection was limited for me, and because audiologist/techs that do the fitting at my local Costco are constantly changing, I felt that I wasn’t getting the best fitting assistance from them. So I switched.
I’ll keep Costco as a second option over the local center. I rather have HA’s with ear molds and replaceable batteries. I appreciate all your replies. Thanks!
I went with my second option and ordered the Jabra Enhance Pro 30’s from Costco. They will be the rechargeable ones. The had me try on a pair of demo 20’s in the sound proof booth with my new ear molds made by Phonak, and I could hear ok with them after I had her turn up the volume. I’m going to use the new molds to start. I go back to Costco in two weeks for the fitting. I was thinking of having programs for normal, hear in noise, hear in noise with speech focus and music.
If I sit at our family Sunday night dinner with everyone talking at the same time, I try all the various programs on my Easy Line app. None of them make any difference trying to understand what anyone is saying. So, I just gave up and use Automatic Premium, the default app for all environments.
Whoops! Ignore this comment…I thought you had the Phonak aids.
It may take multiple visits to get them working best - Let us know how it goes.
In your next visit, ask them to pair the aids to your phone and test them. Many folks here raise issues when the bluetooth connection does not work well for them.
I know, but I hope not to be making lots of trips as Costco is 144 miles round trip. Thanks for the pairing to my phone. I’ll post how it goes once I get the aids. I could install both the Jabra Enhance and the Resound Smart 3d app before I go for my fitting. Hopefully one of will work with my Moto G Stylus 2025 phone.
You will not have good quality streaming with the Moto due to its lack of bluetooth .
(this is exactly why I mentioned testing in my previous comment).
The only aid at Costco that has good streaming with that Moto is the Sennheiser.
Costco can do remote fittings when needed. Ask your fitter to enable this.
First I’ll have to see if the Jabra aids are going to be a benefit to me with my loss. The indicated if these doesn’t work for me I would need to get a refund and go elsewhere for aids that will work for me. No mention of the Sennheiser aids as another option. Thanks for the tip for enabling remote fittings. I’ll ask for it at my fitting session.
Slightly off topic and technical… I hope I don’t skew this thread sideways anyway, my research into Bluetooth LE turns up no, yes, maybe and I don’t know! Motorola doesn’t specify, GSM Arena (cell phone spec site) says yes and the FCC ID database for the phone also shows maybe to yes with Bluetooth on 2.402-2.48 GHz at 60.5 mW (standard ) and 2.402-2.48 GHz at 21.2 mW (?).
GSMArena is a good site (I’m familiar with it) - it shows that your Moto has LE but not BT ( you need BT LE Audio for optimal streaming ). BT LE Audio is not the same as BT LE
I have a Motorola Stylus 2025. When I had my Philips 9050 I had an issue when I received a call. I would get no incoming call audio for about 10-15 seconds. I was eventually told after many searches that Moto doesn’t handle call streaming well. Something about a conflict between regular Bluetooth and LE. Yesterday I got my Sennheiser Sonite Rise and, while it’s too soon to judge, it seems better. But time will tell. Next phone will be a Samsung.

Oh! I see! I am behind hearing technology as I wore my Phonak Brio’s for 11 years before the right one died. A few months ago my 3 year old Samsung phone quit working with the strange insert SIM card message. I was able to get my Samsung working again but in the meantime I purchased the Moto in case the Sammy finally died and it did. I got the Moto as it had, like the Samsung dual speakers which I use on speaker phone during calls. Thanks again for the info! It almost looks like the Moto may be missing the required codec for .

I’m going to ask the Costco why the Sennheiser isn’t a good choice for me.
I went thorugh this with a higher-end Moto phone. Even though it was a few years ago, the issue is the same - most Motorola phones support neither nor .
There are a number of ways a phone can connect to a hearing aid.
HAC - ‘hearing aid compatibility’ - obsolete, but your phone may have it.
Classic - works great but uses a lot of battery power - used by Phonak and its other brands, including Sennheiser. This should work with your Moto.
ASHA (Android Streaming for Hearing Aids) - needs BT Low Energy, but BT LE is not sufficient in itself; the h/w has to be supported by programming - ASHA. Much more efficient use of power than BT Classic. Very few Moto phones support ASHA. Your current phone won’t work well with ASHA.
Auracast + BT LEA (BT ) - needs both BT LEA and programming, it’s the most efficient BT available now, but only a limited number of recent higher end phones support Auracast. Best sound. Your current phone won’t work with Auracast. Sennheiser doesn’t do LEA, IIRC.
Limiting this memo to Costco, you can stream phone calls and music with your phone and the Sennheisers. You will need a different phone to stream with the Jabra 30s, a phone that supports ASHA, at least. (But if you’re getting a new phone, you might as well get something that supports BT LEA and Auracast - Pixel 8-current or Samaung S 23-current.)
The Jabras are technically more sophisticated that the Sennheisers, and I like mine a lot, but it’s likely to be worth your while to try out the Sennheisers, because it’s hard to predict what an indivdual’s response to a will be.
Also, I’ve done extensive experimenting with the Jabra and Resound apps. The Jabra is the same as the main Resound app. Behaves the same. Same problems. Both need at least ASHA to be viable with a phone.
I am not up on this thread but wanted to ask if the Costco fitter mentioned the Jabra super power behind the ear aids for your loss.
As far as RIC aids all of Costco’s aids should work equally for you. If one works all should.
Yes, First ones the suggested. The Jabra super power aids is what was ordered. I have worn BTE’s with mold / tubing for the past 58 years. I’ve never had an aid.

The Moto phone was purchased in case my Samsung went out because it had dual speakers. Option 1, Yeah the old M/T ratings. The Moto is M3/T3. My Phonak worked ok on M but it was better when I switched the aids to . The only place I have been which had a loop in it was the ’s office many years ago. 2. I used that with the Phonak ComPilot until it went out. 3. and 4. are new to me. Thanks for the info!
