Anyone know of a new battery powered resound 90 sp coming?

Does anyone have info on a new addition to resounds battery operated hearing aids. My audi says there is only one model newer than my 6 year old Resound 3D link 9, and it is about 5 years old.

Wondering how long it will be or if up to date battery operated Resounds are a thing of the past? I don’t want rechargeable model because I must have hearing aid available when I need it, don’t want to wait for charge in an emergency, etc.

Audi also mentioned rechargeable models have some noise or interference in the low frequencies due to electrical circuits (?) might be a problem for my prescription since my low frequency hearing is pretty good. So I am not sure what she is talking about and forgot to ask for clarification, would appreciate any information others might have

Thanks for your response but it leaves me confused. Is this model Vivia the battery operated version the only Resound battery operated available? If so this is probably the one the Audi was referring to, and is about a 5 year old model. Of course I would like something more up to date.

No, as the Vivia is the latest platform from ReSound, so don’t know what your Audiologist is thinking of, 5 years back would be ReSound One models, but I think he’s confused with the Enzo , this model has recently been updated to the latest platform

Dunno what’s going on here, but no your loss isn’t going to have issues in this regard, most people who hear the “floor noise” have good low end hearing, honesty I think you should try your local Costco and try the models available, these could quite easily cover your loss, save a ton of $$ as well.

Thanks for the clarification. I don’t think you realize the extent of my hearing loss. I wear custom ear molds for maximum performance out of a SP(severe to profound loss) aid. I have an inherited loss which includes mostly middle frequency loss, additionally with age the higher frequencies are leaving too. I do hear well at low frequency so that is probably where the Audi concern comes in.

The doesn’t work for me the tubing is too small and well I need those custom molds.

I am a possible candidate for cochlear implant in my left ear.

I don’t think Costco aids will help me.

I will look into the Viva, but I have a feeling this is not “good enough” for my loss.

If your audiologist wants you to stay with then yes, the most recent Resound Renzo IA is only available with rechargeable batteries.

As far as I know, the only recent BTE hearing aid that uses batteries is the Oticon Verit.

As @tenkan said, there are options with Resound (Vivia).

Costco sells the Jabra Max Super Power BTE, which is the equivalent of the Renzo IA . This means that Costco does sell as powerfull as the Naida (but with rechargeable batteries).

While I understand the apprehension about rechargeable batteries, devices like the Renzo IA boast a remarkable battery life of 28 hours, effectively eliminating the risk of battery depletion throughout the day. Just put them in the charger before going to bed and put them on when you wake up (unless of course, you wear them continuosly for 24 hours a day). It’s not like few years ago when the HAs couldn’t last a whole day.

HAs with replaceable batteries are becoming less common, just like what happened with SmartPhones.

Thank you for more good information about the super power aids. I am not familiar with the Costco brands but do know that I can get a sp model with battery in a Phonak. I own a couple older pairs of Phonax I keep for back up, in fact was the brand I went with before my newest pair of Resound. So I could get a new pair of Phonaks, however I like Resound better mainly because of integration into iPhone which I would sorely miss.

For now disposable battery is a must have for me.
