Mini Mic to pair with Specsavers Advance 665 hearing aids

I’m an old fogey, have difficulty hearing and so wear Specsavers Advance Super Hearing Aids. The Aids are linked to my Mobile Phone by Bluetooth.
As the aids obviously amplify all surrounding sound, in a noisy area such as a restaurant or car I have difficulty hearing the person to whom I am speaking – normally my wife.
To help with this problem a friend has suggested I try a “Mini Mic” in the hope it will assist me better hear a specific speaker when they wear the Mic.
Being honest cost is a problem so am searching for a reconditioned or used Mic and am confused which will pair with my aids.
I’m obviously looking for a mic that is compatible with my system.The receipt details for my earphones are - Specsavers Advance 665 - MicroRic Li Al.
Any help would be welcomed.

Whilst searching for a ReSound Multi Mic I keep seeing a ReSound Micro Mic advertised. The items look the same in the pics, same box, same content etc., just a different name. Is there any difference in them and if so what is it?

The primary difference is versatility: the ReSound Multi Mic does everything the Micro Mic does but adds functionality as a table microphone, connects to loop/ systems, and includes a jack for direct audio streaming.

Seller on eBay Uk. Seems to have sold a good number of the Resound Micro Mic.

You didn’t mention what type of phone you have? If it’s an Apple iOS you have “live listen” built into the phone under accessibility.

Live Listen is a microphone built into the phone. You turn it on and the conversation streams directly to ears. All you have to do is turn it on and hold the phone or put the phone on the table between you. I hope this helps.

@Phil765 i don’t know if your in the USA. I have just posted a new thread in Cochlear Implants for Cochlear spare parts. I noticed in that link they have multi mics. I don’t know what hoops you have to jump through to qualify though. Good luck.

Thanks tenkan for clarification of difference in ReSound Mics – think I’ll focus on the “Multi”.

To answer a couple of questions – I’m based in the UK – in the centre of England, in the Peak District, but happy to search for a Mic outside the UK. My Mobile is an android - a Galaxy S21 FE 5G. The App currently used to link it to my earphones is BeMore.

The idea posed by Deaf_piper about the Apple “live listen” obviously doesn’t apply but it did prompt me to explore my BeMore App, which I’m ashamed to say I’d never done before and I was surprised how I could improve my reception using the “Hear in Noise” and “Speech Clarity” settings. I still want to add an external Mic but am very grateful for Dear_piper’s direction.

Thanks BarryH – great guidance. I had tried that site before and the service they gave was excellent. I had to send the Mic back for one reason or another and they gave me an instant refund and free return post. Good supplier.

Will get back to seeking a good used Multi Mic.

Are your made by Resound? The ReSound Multi-mic and Mini-mic work only with Resound aids. The Multi-mic+ works with and will connect with Resound HAs natively (i.e. Auracast not needed).
