Feedback (whistling)

There’s a couple things going on here. The whistling was always an issue and the vents were made larger. But after you all explained the feedback I understand better. At the same time as the whistling issue her hearing in the low frequencies has improved. (Yes, you read that right…her hearing improved) She has a chronic infection that is finally being treated successfully and her hearing is improving mainly in the low frequencies. Now I understand that is why the vents were made larger. So, I now suspect she needs yet another hearing test. The fitter has a heart of gold. This has been challenging. I thank you all. I understand it much better now.

hi there, there is a long list of reasons why hearing aids may whistle, including the wrong size dome, earwax buildup in the ear canal, or the patient’s loss of weight that causes a poor seal of the earmoulds, which have been just fine up until now.
