ReSound Vivia Linux

Did it work out of the box with Ubuntu 26.04, or did you have to change or add anything?

Worked out of the box on Ubuntu 26.04. I just had to disable Bluetooth on my other paired devices (pixel 9 pro, and iPad Air M1) while pairing to my laptop. Now my Pixel, iPad and laptop are all able to take over audio, depending on whichever one is playing sound. However, the only way to stop a device from taking over streaming is to disable it’s Bluetooth.

I’ve switched to using Auracast with a C82 Aura dongle, so that I can keep my phone connected to the hearing aids and connect/disconnect as needed to the laptop’s auracast dongle. This way I can keep bluetooth enabled all the time on my phone and laptop.

Same here!

Auracast rules because the user can decide which Bluetooth connection should be active!

And for meetings where I need a microphone, the webcam microphone delivers better sound quality anyways!

I also have Phonak Spheres which support two simultaneous Bluetooth connections. This can work, but becomes unreliable when I walk away from my computer (out of Bluetooth range) and then come back to my desk.
At that point the Spheres will either refuse to work with the computer, or worse won’t transmit any audio from either phone or computer. When that happens only a hearing aid power cycle will bring Bluetooth back to life.
