Hi.
New here and wanting some other opinions/insight as it’s slowly driving me insane!
I’m in my late 20s and have had more noticeable hearing issues over the last 4 years - the main one (I thought) being fluctuating unilateral autophony, I can hear my voice around 3x louder than normal, my own breathing etc etc and have been dismissed again and again. I struggle to hear in busy and loud places, I can hear people talking to me but it genuinely feels like I can’t register what they are actually to me. Having 2 seemingly normal , I ended up having various scans just incase anything sinister happened to be there and thankfully there is nothing causing the hearing problems. Which is obviously a relief and was sent on my way again with a ‘it probably just happens just because…’
As a final resort, and not expecting much to come of it, I went to a private hearing clinic to see if there was any hope anywhere of a bit of relief. Turns out, it seems to be a cookie bite hearing loss and I’m trialling hearing aids to try and provide some sort of relief.
long story short, I feel a bit in denial? As in surely this can’t just have just magically appeared or suddenly the answers to all my questions have finally came about. I know I struggle and I would love nothing more than to find something to help but I feel super sceptical? I hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance!
