Unlikely – Trump tariffs were struck down by the Supreme Court because they were unlawful (Feb 2026) plus were exempt from tariiffs. LXE Hearing is based in San Jose , California.

LXE Hearing explanation “This decision follows extensive efforts to restructure the business and pursue strategic transactions”. In other words, they are not making enough money (see link below).

LXE Hearing | Hearing Health Company & Executive Team6

Innovative hearing aids at affordable prices with different styles from behind-the-ear to earbuds to completely-in-canal with award-winning customer support.

The big players have good margins. What happened here: management choices, poor product, volumes too low, something else?

LXE is the parent company, not hearX

Lexie Hearing to Cease Operations in US
My understanding is that it is the other way: Eargo and hearX merged to form LXE Hearing (which is based in San Jose, CA) per paragraph 2 in the first link, HQ = San Jose in 2nd link. “For over a decade, Eargo, Lexie and Go have been dedicated to democratizing access to high-quality hearing aids and care. Today, we write with a heavy heart to share some difficult news about the future of that journey. Our parent company, LXE Hearing, has begun a wind-down of its US operations”

Fair enough, HearX will continue its operations in South Africa. That part of the business isn’t being wound up. They manufacture a lot of hearing screening and teleaudiology solutions.
