This appears to be a Phonak. If it is a Lumity or earlier model (except for the Lumity RL) there is a pin which locks the receiver wire into the hearing aid. Use a small tool, like a paper clip to push the pin (either way) a little bit to unlock the wire then you can pull it out. Don’t push the pin all of the way out. If your is not a Phonak like the one in the picture or a newer model different procedures may apply.
I see little holes near the end, but they are too small for a paper clip,
You’ll be surprised, should be a close fit, but you can also use a pin or sim card tool, best to learn to do this yourself, very easy to do and save the hassle and cost of trying to get your Audiologist to do it!
Hi,
I’m reading different things online about how to replace my Lumity RT receives.
Do I need the removal tool or do I just have to pull the receiver out?
Thanks!
Thanks! I can do it. I have a sim card tool that should work.
In the meantime, I’ve noticed another problem with the hearing aid. Actually, my wife noticed it. It makes hissing and sometimes chirping noises that I can’t hear due to high frequency problems after COVID. So it’s off to the doc/audi office. The 3 year warranty is up in October, so I should be covered.
I had the speaker (for lack of the proper term) go bad in one of my ear molds.
The audi’s assistant replaced it with a dome. Don’t know what size.
Then I remembered that I had another set of ear molds. When I had them made, the audi didn’t like them (too small), and Phonak made a second pair.
So the smaller earmold is now in, and seals better than the dome.
I play music, when gigging I hook the TV Connecter to the earphone jack of my PA Mixer. With ear molds, I can turn the volume down to a more than safe level.
Funny, I’ve always protected my ears using custom fitted musician’s ear plugs, using an meter for volume and the proper insert into the ear plugs to make sure I never exceed 85dba. I try to keep it in the 70s.
Then I had a misdiagnosed allergy that took months to figure out, and that took out a lot of hearing.
Years later COVID took out more on one side.
I protected my ears and still got hard of hearing.
So, Rats! I could have been listening to loud music instead of protecting my ears all these years.
