I had and unknow signal from my old Oticon Opn S1. They were getting old, 7 years, and started a peculiar beep which I questioned in a topic posted here several months ago. Nobody could positively identify and several of course suggested I contact my supplier. Unhappy with supplied so contacted and new ones fitted about a month ago. My audiologist never hears what I described with my old ones and darned if I do not have the same problem with my new ones - immediately not after 7 years. Have sent her a note asking if she has heard this one but have yet to hear.
The noise I am getting is best described as a Klunk ending with a simple tone and fades in aboujt 1 second. This is not a beep, a single tone used to tell me I am midway with the volume adjustment, or the multiple beeps used for other purposes and note a verbal explanation such as this is Program Two, or the series of tone such as when you put on or shutdown. A weak batter is very clearly understood by a verbal warning.
I rear my audiologist , relatively new handling Oticon’s and very young will not be able to even research without hearing the sound which is load and occurs about five times a day - it certainly wakes you up. Therefore am posting this group which seems to have much broader experience.
