I think I cheated. They only have 10 words and I remembered them as I’ve done a couple of hearing tests in the last month… “say the word baseball"….. when quieter they still use the same phrase.

That’s for speech reception not word recognition. It’s a closed set test, so fine for you to know the words.

That makes more sense. Turn it off/frequency shift out of the dead spot. See if the aided free-field improves.

OK. Here are all the updates.
Went back to the new audiologist. She seems great. Was fitted with the Oticon Intent 1's. She used and said that with normal domes she could hit target. There was feedback in the left so she put in larger domes but I felt way to much eclusion so I took 2 sizes home with me.
My doctor called me a couple of days after my appointment and discussed the difference between my ears hearing loss. I told him about the planes and flying without protection but he thought an was a good idea.
Had that this week - all clear
My hearing with the new aids is incredibly better all around. I don't think the filters are working correctly as there is no difference when I hit the "speach in noise" button on the app.
I still struggle to hear in some situations - I think part of this is my brain trying to process all the new information.
Tinitus has become a bit of an issue since I started down this path a few months ago. Any thoughts on this would be most helpful.
I'm going to redo my word recognition score this week so will report back.

I might try them next but I think I will try to tweak these first. They were $800 CDN used and $600 to set them up....

Well you could get new from Costco for not much more, $600 to "set them up" is a bit of a rip, go in future if possible and save your dollars and time.
