I wonder what are the differences between Phonak’s Naida V SP and Versata Art SP?
Thanks!
In basic terms: Grunt over Finesse.
There is a school of thought (I’m in it) that suggests that as your hearing gets significantly worse - severe/profound levels, the degree of benefit from very advanced features in hearing instruments is questionable, even to the point of being counter-productive. Even with an aid like the Naida V it’s sometimes necessary to turn off lots of the features to get the most out of them for the patient.
If your hearing resolution is stil very good, you may still benefit from the slightly better refinement of the Versata. If you loss is much worse - possibly with ‘dead-spots’ the Naida may help more.

Sounds like the difference is very small…looking at Phonak’s ‘advertised’ features, the only differences I see are:
SoundRecover:
Versata = NO
Naidia V = YES
Directionality:
Versata = VoiceZoom with 12 channel
Naidia V = Digital AudioZoom
Like Um bongo said, I wonder if those features are questionable benefit for severe/profound loss?

Having a profound loss and wearing Naida IX, I cannot hear any benefits from the AudioZoom feature along with some of the other “Premium” features.
The Naida IX have the DuoPhone which I must have to hear on the telephone as well as a great feedback management program.
I agree with Um Bongo

The Versata “Art” devices, as well as the new Certena and Exelia “Arts” all have Sound Recover now. The Naida may have a greater fitting range, however, and is water resistant. I believe the Versata Art comes in a wider variety of sizes and styles (///) while the Naida is only in the 2 BTE models (SP & UP). Might be worth trying both Naida and Versata Art if your hearing falls within both fitting ranges to see if the other features make a difference for you. Good luck!
