Hi. I was on this forum several years ago and it was very helpful. At the time, I got the Kirkland 9.0 hearing aids for my cookie bite hearing loss (this was I think about 6 years ago). Over the years, they seemed pretty good till about 2 years ago and I was told when I saw the specialist at Costco that one ear has worsened and there are now better options.
What my main concern is has to do with hearing speech optimally. I take classes and usually manually raise volume up one notch above the middle point of volume. This seems to work pretty well, but if the teacher lowers voice or mumbles there's a problem. Also, I find in small groups in class I don't hear great and also in restaurants or if I meet friends where there are high ceilings. I had started with the open domes and now have the small . (They once gave me the bigger closed domes to try, but that was really not good and it was especially a problem when I saw people in person that spoke softly).
I don't care about music, but main concern is speech. I still use the 6 year old ones I have but plan to go in to ask them about things, but was wondering if anyone ha experience since the Kirkland 9.0 ones! Also, I find when the air conditioning goes on it seems to really make it hard to hear other person even though they have the noise reduced significantly. This also happens when driving with and if there are road noises etc. I am fine with adjusting manually the volume throughout a situation, but am not sure what are good options at this point! Thanks for any ideas.
