I mean I know this is stating the obvious here but there is a video from Signia showing how to connect to multiple devices with the new MaX hearing aids, but of course @MoHearing is not getting this type of result, so maybe the app itself is glitchy? I don't know?
but the conversations were uncomfortably loud, and made it difficult to tune into the conversation with my tablemates unless I really leaned in.
that's true in these sorts of hearing environments for fully abled hearers as well. Just sayin'.
P.s. with my Signia Ax 7's, the Signia app craps out often. I find the Hearing Aid Device app on my Iphone to be far more dependable. But I don't try to run two devices at the same time.
I wish my Signia hearing aids worked as flawlessly as the Signia video shows. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been that reliable. There are times when it shows they are connected to one of the devices, but it still doesn’t play even when the other device’s Bluetooth is off. I’ve also gone around and around with my hearing provider and Signia tech-support to get some of the app to work more seamlessly as it should. They are continuing to do some upgrades, but for now it really seems like it is not ready for prime time.
I went back to my Phonak Lumity 70 and know for certain that I must have a multi-connection feature for my lifestyle that is not glitchy. Hands down the Phonak aids win. In the last few days of testing the Signia I did get used to the required routine of turning off on one device before turning it on to the other, but it still was glitchy on occasion.
I'll be returning the Signia MaX sometime this week. I think I gave them as fair a shot as I could. I do want to add: It just doesn't feel right that my Kaiser Senior Advantage insurance, while I'm grateful for the $2500. per HA ($5000. pair) benefit, mandates that I go only to HearUSA, and Kaiser owns 50% of one of HearUSA's entities. That, and the copay to get into the Phonak Lumity 70 was $600. a few years ago, and the same level Phonak Eon 70 Sphere is now $2000. Yes, still a "good" deal, but not when you consider 1. The similar tier Signia MaX 5 is $800. (co-pay has gone up since my trial started), and 2. the Technician is not nearly as familar with the Phonak brand, since they don't fit many.
The hearing quality is very good with the Signia MaX 5. They're just not great enough to replace my Phonak Lumity 70.
