I have 4 year old Signia 7AXTR Pure Charge & Go aids that I think need replacing. I am having to turn them up more and more often and can NOT understand speech in a noisy environment. But I LOVE their MFI connection to my iphone that facilitates all of my reminders and appointments playing thru my aids.

I have tried the phonak Audeo infinio ultra sphere 70's. They HELPED me understand speech in noise, but only give me a beep for reminders and such. then I have to pick up the phone to find out what that beep was for.

I am currently trying some Signia Pure Charge&Go BCT IX aids which seem to be helping me understand speech, but again, all I get for reminders is a beep.

Do any of the newer aids have the true MFI connection? Is there a setting that I have not found to make reminders and announcements play through my aids instead of just a beep??

Both of those options you've trialled recently use classic bluetooth to communicate with your phone rather than Mifi. Every other option from Signia uses Mifi. Have you had your existing hearing aids serviced recently, your hearing test updated and your devices reprogrammed? Hearing aids should last more than 4 years.

I am trialing a pair of Starkey Omega . While they and their predecessors, Edge AI, do not have classic bluetooth like the Phonaks do, they do have the capability for you to create a message or reminder directly in them and, at the scheduled date and time, they will play the message to you over the hearing aid. They also have what Starkey calls their Edge and Edge+ system to filter down noise and enhance speech. It is supposed to be similar in results to the Sphere. It's worth looking at and seeing if it is compatible with your phone and computer. (In fact , right now, mine is reminding me that it's time for me to take in my bird feeders for the night.) I don't think the difference between Signia's AX and IX platform is very significant. If I recall correctly, the main difference between the two is how the devices can track multiple people in a conversation (improved multi-speaker performance).

The issues you say (turn volume up, speech in noise issues) point to a programming issue more than a device issue.

You chould just replace the receiver's then get a new done and have them reprogrammed accordingly, you could in the meantime replace the in the receiver's in case they are blocked and causing your present issues, if you definitely want new you should try your local Costco store for the best prices in town, they only sell the premium models with most having for those that like their Apples.
