i wrote about this about a month ago ago, but evidently I did something incorrectly since it didn’t post. I had my third mapping session last month and it went well. I complained to the audi about the very loud and irritating sounds that derive from someone tapping a cereal bowl or putting silverware into a drawer, and she deactivated two of the electrodes saying that it was common practice and that she would reactívate them later. That made quite a difference! It has now been almost five months since activation, and my hearing/understanding continues to improve. I am at the point where my understanding with the implant alone is better than with my aid alone. The only problematic area is when more than one person is speaking. Each voice seems to cancel out the other, so that neither is understood. Maybe that will improve in time.
