Anyone experiencing poor performance in their Phonak Audèo EON Sphere 90?

As in ’s not auto switching programs when moving between loud/quiet environments. Staying in Automatic mode 100% of the time no matter the environmental sound level. Manually switching to ‘Speech in Noise” program makes no noticeable difference in background sound reduction and improved speech clarity. Having to use the Partner Mic in moderately noisy environments to hear person sitting across the table from you, even in Sphere mode. This is after multiple fittings/adjustments from Audiologist. Anyone else having these issues with their Phonak Audèo EON Sphere 90’s?

That was not clear in your original post. You seem to be suggesting that you are changing the background environmental sounds whilst connected to Target.

Apologies if my post was not clear, or I was using incorrect terms to describe the issue. My ’s are not switching to any sub program while I am wearing them out in the world, regardless of the amount of noise present. Quiet environments, mid noise levels, extremely loud environments, makes no difference. They are set to automatically switch to sub programs for those environments, but are not doing so. This was confirmed when the audiologist connected the HA’s to his Target program and the information showed the HA’s remained in the default mode 100% of the time. In other words, they are not doing anything but amplify everything in whatever environment I am in, with no mitigation using the built in sub programs present. I’m just trying to find out if anyone else with these hearings aids has had the same issue.

So they're in "calm situations" all the time?

Not attempting to hijack this thread, but because I'll be visiting an audiologist in about 10 days to try the Eon Speres, I have a SOMEWHAT related question regarding one portion of the Hearing-Tracker review just posted. The review is appended by recordings that attempt to demonstrate just what the architecture does to amplified sound or music in various environments. I'm puzzled by how that could be useful to a hearing-impaired person listening through even though superb headphones, if that person can't hear what's amplified differently in the first place!

I do not know which mode they were in, and didn't think ask my Audi. He just confirmed that they had not been switching between programs in the weeks after my initial and second fitting. And all I can say is they were very loud, and I was constantly having to reduce the volume using the app. But I now no longer have them, as they have been returned to Phonak.

I no longer have the 's as my Audi has returned them to Phonak. I guess I'll find out what the result was in a couple weeks when I go back.

Update: My Audi returned my EON Sphere 90’s to Phonak, and I received a new pair a few days later. The new ones are working correctly, so there was definitely a defective issue somewhere in the original pair. I’ve been fitted with acrylic slim tips, M receiver, and have been very pleased with the performance after just one tune up visit so far. I Had lots of specific notes/feedback for that visit, so that may have helped in getting them programmed so well. The two biggest improvements over my old hearing aids is that I can finally follow along and join in on conversations in very noisy environments like restaurants, city streets, and sporting events. And I’m now getting around 90% of the dialog in theaters. The ’s have been doing a good job of auto-switching between programs as needed, with only once needing to manually switch to Speech in Noise when they had trouble discerning what I was focusing on. So all in all I’m happy with choosing the EON Sphere 90’s, and look forward to them getting even better as I have them fine tuned in future visits to my audiologist.
