I am currently trialing Oticon intent 1's as an upgrade from Phonak Audeo Marvel's M70. I have loved Phonak so far, but my understanding is getting worse and the phonak pair are just not powerful enough (or so i've been told).
Now, I have a suspicion my hearing aid provider is trying to push me to either go Oticon Intent 1 or Starkey Omega and not really giving me other options. I say this because with my research, I found that the intent came out on 2024 and there are newer top of the line Oticons. Dont get me wrong, I love the Oticon's so far, the only quib I have with it is that the left receiver keeps touching my canal so sound keeps coming in and out (my canal is very tiny). I have gone back to 'fix' this and I have a retainer and a smallet dome than before and it still happens, especially when I walk, chew, or am in any type of motion.
This makes me feel like Oticons are designed to 'old age, sedentary folx', hell the whole market is. Now, I will work in healthcare and will typically pull 24+ shifts, I will not have the luxury to charge Oticons on a whim and am really interested in the Starkeys longer battery hours, they have health tracker and are water resistant, which is imporant as I l have long curly hair. I am still on the fence and my trial is coming to an end.
My main struggles are understanding, speech clarity and background noise is SO distracting with my current Phonak. I would love other peoples opinion as to which one may be better based on bilateral sensorinueral hearing loss.
Also, is it possible to bring my Phonak to the same level of clarity or as close as possible to the Intent?
This is my first post on here, so I cant upload my yet.
Thanks for everyones help!
edit: Here is my audiogram btw.
