Makes me laugh when people try and sell hearing aids saying the cost £4000 new lol no over £2000 of that was the cost for the audiologist fees so trying to sell them for £2000 2nd hand 🤣🤣 in reality should be no more than £1000
With some online sellers here in the USA one can effectively buy the without any services (e.g. FitHearing.com). However, they will come with a valid manufacturer’s warranty which used ones will not.
Yea no warranty in uk 2nd hand the 3000 to 4000 people are spending at an audiologist more than half of that is in their fees the actual hearing aids brand new are less than half of that so people are trying to sell them for 2nd hand of 3000 to 4000 of the price but doesn't come with the warranty or all the aftercare you get with the original audiologist 🤷♂️🤔
Some years ago, I had my Kirklands serviced out of warranty for under $300/pair. They went to service with 4 programs, and they came back with a 5th, so I suspect they were upgraded to a more current spec. Per at least one registered provider here, they pay a lot more than a few $100 for new hardware, but it's pretty sure that manufacturers get a lot of markup for new - but my bet is that the hardware cost is still in the hundreds, not the $1000s. If only the people in marketing, R&D, admin, sales, and actual service didn't need to eat....
I believe it is the cost the gouv is paying for buying from supplier. At certain conditions we can have a HA for free from gouv. I don't know how it pay the fitter for service. The last time it got one for free, the fitter asked 2000$ can for a second one (Sonic Enchant 60). It was over 6 years ago.
You can buy the resound vivas and the phonak i90 spear wholesale and audiologist sets them up for you online with the warranty for £2000 for the pair that will cost around £4000 from an audiologist so yea trying to sell a 2nd hand pair for the price it costs with the warranty and care you won't be getting 2nd hand is kinda stupid 🤔🤣
gtremblay, Thanks for posting that price sheet. Someone on this forum, I think, once posted a price sheet for the U.S . It seems the prices on both were similar.
The va spreadsheet? Posted to the Va.gov website (that’s where the link goes) and numbers of aids should be in the sheet. I don’t know about other information posted 8n this topic.
