It has been a bit since I last gave an update. Summary implanted Nov '25. Activated Dec. My appt last month the audi said I have "graduated". Her recommendation to come for check in 6 months (or if I think I need something updated prior).

She said that my scores were excellent.

I am not 100% - BUT I went into surgery with 0 word or sentence recognition (even with my high power Oticon). So throughout the journey I knew and was thankful for every improvement since I had nothing.

I tested at 86% word recognition in noise; 97% sentence recognition in noise.

Male/lower voices are the "missing" gaps in the scores.

I have been in crowded/loud restaurants with minimal issues understanding conversations. In normal daily life I rarely have to ask people to repeat something. If I do, it is typically a combination of machinery and soft spoken or something similar. In other environments were I may have thought I was struggling I am with people with normal hearing and realize they are struggline to. :)

All in all, I am happy where I am. SO appreciative of everyone here who helped support me with my questions/anxiety etc prior to surgery. As well as the tips and guidance during these past 9+ months after activation. Those tips on adjustments, questions to ask, etc made all the difference. I am truly thankful for this board!

Impressive numbers. You have and are doing great, a superstar.

Thanks for the update. The forum seems to lose the members once they have better speech understanding.

Your update is very helpful for those on the fence about CI.

Congratulations those numbers are absolutely superb, considering what you started with. Thanks for the update, onwards and upward from now, you will continue to improve over the next several months.

Getting a is not an easy road to walk. People think you put your CI on and you hear, how I wish that was true for everyone.

Getting a CI is not an easy road to walk. People think you put your CI on and you hear, how I wish that was true for everyone.

Of course I would love 100% but I definitely think it is better than what the dr's anticipated based on my type of loss etc. So I am thankful and blessed.

Definitely was work and what appeared to be slow progress initially. You and others helped to keep me grounded and moving forward. Happy where I have gotten to!
