With over two hundred views to my posts about Pure Tone and Zero replies.I tend to conclude that no one on this forum uses Pure Tone brand hearing aids.

electro,
I’ve never heard of them. I Googled them and only came up with Pure Tone Hearing Aid Group and they sell a lot of different brands.

I could not find anything at first either. It appears the OP is referring to the company here3.
They call themselves the UK’s only independent hearing manufacturer, whatever that means. They are also advertising Hansaton (owned by Siemens) aids. That’s confusing. They make their own aids, but advertise for a competitor??
Sorry I am not much help here.

From what I can come up with they seem to be big in Great Britain. They claim to have been around since 1976 and have won numerous awards. Their product is worn by Meatloaf and David Bowie, take that for what it’s worth, but I’m not sure if they wear sound suppression devices or actual hearing aids. Either way they don’t sound as if they are some fly by night company.

Very right.this is exactly the website you have visited puretone.net18 .I’ll write more about my father’s experience with it later .Really grateful to all who responded.

Puretone website claims the owner has received Order of British Empire from the Queen, their audio monitors are being used by Madonna, BBC Clair TV etc.
Could this be a fake company? My father has had a bad experience with their aid.Never able to listen anything better than going without it.numerous visits to the shop and they tune it every time on computer.

They certainly aren’t fake. The company was awarded the Queens Award for Export and the former owner/MD has also been awarded for services to the industry in the UK. The company has been registered for fifty years or more.
They are however one of the smaller companies in the UK, though the Hansaton brand has upped their market presence a bit. Just because your father cannot hear with a product isn’t necessarily the fault of either the manufacturer or the dispenser. He should ask to try an alternative brand or ask whether the dispenser can get Puretone to send a rep out to resolve the matter.
You don’t mention whether the aid was fitted by itself or as a pair: the degree of benefit of single sided fittings is quite limited: especially in the presence of background noise.

Thanks Um Bongo for a detailed response. The seller is their authorised Puretone dealer and an audiologist. He was given aid for one side only and was never suggested a replacement.I will convey him your suggestions.Hope it works.I had suggested him to get the simplest aid that only amplifies, no noise suppression etc, but I could not find a small that is a simple amplifier. If you know of one on the internet I’ll be grateful .
