If you purchase the aids at costco and they need to be adjusted, can costco do that? Also, can they repair them too?
This is the first time purchasing them and I’m trying to outweigh the pros and cons of drs office and costco.tia
Yes, the Costco Hearing Aid Center functions like a small hearing aid shop, providing services and supplies. It is normal to have several adjustment sessions to get everything just right. Like any other hearing aid shop, if you have a problem that is not programming or fit related, they may send it out for repair. Costco offers a three year warranty with two year loss and damage. They also have a 180 day trial period where you can return them for a full refund.
I have been very happy with the service I have received at Costco, but it depends on the personnel at your specific shop, just like it would for an independent shop. You can take your hearing aids to another Costco for service or help if, for example, you are traveling and have a problem. Can’t do that with an independent.
When you buy hearing aids you are buying the hardware plus some bundled services from a local professional so you are dependent on those bundled services for help. The manufacturer has no relationship with you (other than warranty) and does not offer any services to you (similar to buying a car from a local dealer).
