Yep, just did this again, and I get the same results. (see image) Is it preferable to use the Apple Settings path first to connect, before trying the Signature App?
i had the same problem. After much trial and tribulation and help, here’s the solution:
good luck.

Thank You, Ken
I am just completely stunned that after 5 months of Apple (Forum and live body “Genius Bar”) Support… NOT ONE PERSON EVER MENTIONED YOUR VERY SIMPLE SOLUTION. Grrr… And all this started 8 seconds after the “new improved” 8.x.x. iOS update in mid-January. Kinda hard to find a properly configured wifi signal while on the road in Mexico for the winter.
I’m now on 5Ghz and it works, with a somewhat smaller range than I get with 2.4 and a Windows device.

Was just going to travel to Costco… and this tip fixed the problem. But I wonder why the iPod/Hearing Aids forgot each other? I do use this iPod on my other Bluetooth systems (car & home stereo). Maybe that’s too many tasks?
Thanks Again,

i had the same problem. After much trial and tribulation and help, here’s the solution:
- Go to settings – general-- accessibility-- hearing aids.
- Scroll down and press “forget this device”
- Turn off Bluetooth and open batteries compartments
- Do a hard reset (press top on/off button and home button at same time).
- Swipe to off.
- Wait a bit then turn iPhone on and go back to settings-- general-- accessibility-- hearing aids.
- Then I needed to close both battery compartments at exactly the same time.
- You should get a box saying it is pairing with one of the hearing aids. Press ok.
- A short time later, another box will say pairing with the other hearing aid. Press ok.
- Now this is important: after pressing the ok’s do NOTHING. The software needs to go through some housekeeping which takes a few minutes. Mine did NOT give me any indication of the progress or even a spinning gear so just wait. I would wait 10 minutes to be sure.
- Then you should see both batteries at the top. Now you can exit out of settings and open the app. But again, even if you see both batteries right after the second ok, still wait as per step 10.
good luck.

When I had my hearing test last week, the Costco audiologist told me that they only enable 2 of the programs on the KS6 - the “All-around” and the “Restaurant” because that’s all that’s really needed. Has anybody experienced this, and is the “Traffic” and “Outside” programs really of no use? I have an appointment tomorrow to get the so I would like to hear some opinions before then.

I think your audiologist is almost right. I had a third program called phone. But it was useless to me because unless you use magnets on the telephone whereby the iPhone program will automatically switch to the phone program what are you going to do when a call comes in - say wait a minute until I dig out my iPhone, open the app, and switch to the phone program. So I answer the telephone by using speaker phone and listening with the all around program. So I had my audiologist change the phone program to Music just to try it out streaming from the music in iPhone. Also, I changed the all around to be directionality and added a fourth program to be all around with soft-switching just to experiment between the two. I’m not fully convinced yet, but it seems that the all around with soft switching seems to be better when watching TV and when doing almost anything else, all around with binaural directionality works fine. I use restaurants for restaurants though.
don’t be afraid to experiment with programs. You can have four. Also, it is super easy for the fitter to change programs as there is a menu of offerings and the fitter just clicks on it.
hope this helps.

Can’t you just change the program on the hearing aid itself? You can on the KS5. Much quicker than digging through the smartphone app. Long press on volume up, on mine. Long press on volume down activates the TV streamer.

Three weeks into wearing the K6. No real problems but a couple unusual items.
I play an APP game with my daughter called WORDS WITH FRIENDS, when I do the sounds from the app go direct to my aids and it is loud. Only if I turn the bluetooth off does it go away.
Aids are somewhat tinny, have had to turn volume down with Iphone App. Aids also will receive voice from Iphone Siri very loud, again have to turn bluetooth off.
Real weird is that when using CHROMECAST on digital TV I have to turn Bluetooth off or Chromecast will not work.
Hopefully either I will get used to it or the APP developer will figure out a fix.

Does anyone here ride bikes, or spend many hours in windy spots (sailboat)? I’m looking for answers regarding effectiveness of a program that would kill all the noise of wind passing over the microphones. This become so loud that so far it’s best just to pull over, and open the battery compartment until I’ve peddled to my destination.

I had my guy at Costco set up program slot number 4 as No Gain. It effectively turns off the microphones. I use it with the leaf blower and the vacuum cleaner, and it does the job. Just have to press the button on the 3 times to get to that program.

You can have your fitter turn on the WindGuard feature for your program 1. Or if you prefer a dedicated option for use solely in windy situations, the Outdoor program can be added.

You can also use the mute button underneath the volume slider in the Choice app.

Sorry I may not have been clear. Sure you can tap on any program already set up in your app by the fitter. You can not change or add a new program yourself. Your fitter does this through the Aventa software.

I now have re read your question. Yes, I guess you can tap on the hearing aid itself. To be honest, I never considered that but will try it.

There does not seem to be a long press option on the KS6. The button on the actual lets you cycle through the available programs, but does not allow you to change the volume (or at least I have not been able to). I use the phone clip plus to change volume. Changing programs no problem though.

The KS5 has a rocker switch that can change volume, or change programs depending on how long and where it’s pressed. The KS6 only has a program change button to cycle through the programs.

I’ve been wearing Costco Rexton “Quintra’s” for the past year and a half. They have been very good and the battery lasts about 6-7 days under normal use. Yesterday one of my ’s would not turn on so I had to send it out for repair yesterday. While I was at the Costco Hearing center, I learned the new Kirkland Signature V6.0 is now available. The seemed very positive about the new V6.0 model.
There is one thing I take issue with the Rextons. I am an acoustic guitarist and when I play a single note on a non-wound string, I hear essentially two notes. Polyphonic. It is very annoying. The guitar becomes twangy beyond reasonable. So I have to play without my HA’s.
I would like to have a set of HA’s that sound just a bit more natural without imparting an unnatural sonic artifact. I am wondering if the Kirkland Signature V6.0 would work better for me?
BUT …I do NOT use an iPhone. I have an HTC One M8 Android Cell phone I am very happy with. Is is true you cannot adjust the volume manually on the Kirkland Signature V6.0? Is an external controller or remote required? That’s a pain if I have to carry around another device.
And after researching and reading this thread, it seems more people have issues with the Bluetooth cutting in and out, switching from ear to ear. Is the technology ready for primetime?
Lastly, has anyone compared the sonic tonal quality of Kirkland Signature V6.0 versus Rexton Quintra’s? …Speech, TV, general talking …music? Thanks!

Well, I have an iphone that I picked up to use with a set of KS6. Frankly, it isn’t that useful. The button is set to change programs and I can quickly cycle to the one I want – but even there they are all very close. I doubt I’ll change the volume often. So far, it hasn’t been an issue.
If I hadn’t gone with that, I was thinking of the phone clip which give you volume and program buttons along with a hands free link to an android phone. For an android user, I think its a very useable and cost effective choice. There is or will be an Android app for the KS6. I am not sure what it will add. The missing part may be the bass and treble controls. That might help a musician but my tin ear can’t really find a lot of benefit from that control set.
