Can you tell me how you changed from 2.4G to 5G or point me to a post that describes the procedure?
Thx - Craig
I have the iPod Touch 5th Gen… which is essentially the same as an iPhone. My understanding is that everything about this connection is Bluetooth based with nothing whatsoever to do with your wifi settings. As far as the connection I’m getting between my iPod Touch 5th Gen and the K6s… it’s working wonderfully. But, I can mention that the connection does not “reach” very far consistently. If I want a solid stream of sounds I am best to keep the iPod in my shirt-breast pocket closer to the K6s. Sometimes if I put the iPod in my hip pocket the connection will come & go. Very Happy with my New K6s!
I downloaded the ReSound Smart app… cannot connect the paired K6 hearing aids. Checked my iPod/Settings/General/Accessibility/Hearing Aids and I’m connected. I used the iTunes store, and I’m searching through the Resound site, can’t find any app for the Kirkland Signatures.
One way you can see the differences between Costco and ReSound is to download the two Iphone Apps and run them in Demo mode. The Costco app (Choice) only lets you adjust Volume, Treble and Bass. The Resound App (Smart) also lets you adjust Comfort In Noise, Speech Focus and Comfort in Wind. Go to resound.com to see a demo of the resound smart app.
I don’t know if this means that the KS6 can’t do these adjustments, or its just that their Iphone App can’t do them. But either way, the result is that you can’t do them on your own.
How does one change volume and programs if they have an Android phone??
I’m getting the KS6.0 fitted next week and the Audi told me there was no need to purchase a remote control since it can all be done in the phone app, but I’ve been reading that the app is only compatible with iphones. I told my Audi that I have an android phone but she said it doesn’t matter as the app supports both.

I will agree that the Bluetooth connection has nothing to do with WiFi. There is another thread somewhere on this forum discussing streaming issues with Resound . Several people in that thread mentioned that their streaming issues went away when they switched to 5G. I tried it and my problem went away. With 2.4G, I could stream and it worked until I put the phone in my pocket. Then I would get intermittent drops. After switching to 5G, I can put the phone in my pocket and even put the phone on a table and walk 20 feet away without drops. I don’t know why changing WiFi bands would affect Bluetooth but for me, it does.
The TV Streamer and Streamer 2 use 2.4 Ghz to stream to the aids, as does the phone clip or phone clip+. I’m sure the direct streaming is similar, and moving wifi to 5 Ghz removes a source of interference.
Well, I’m 3 1/2 days into owning and using my K6s and just had to replace the batteries. Not really complaining as I’ve streamed quite a few hour iTunes Music and XM Radio to the . I am hearing stereo for the first time in many years and just loving it!!
Other than loosing the Bluetooth connections if I get more than an arms length away from the iPhone, I am one Happy Camper!!!
Between the Kirkland K6s and the iPhone 5s I’ve invested $2500 to greatly improve my hearing. This has turned out top be one of those priceless Master Card moments! 8^)
I don’t see any threads for new users of ReSound / Costco aids, so I’m just going to put this here.
This site was apparently down for a while, so I’ve had my Coscto Kirkland KS-6 aids fitted and have been wearing them for a bit over a week. Overall, I’m quite impressed. The first set of batteries lasted 5 days, which is a woefully short time compared to the #13s in my old Rexton Targa 2P aids. Nevertheless, the #312s are cheap enough and the performance of these aids is good enough that I’m willing to go along.
I go back for a followup fitting in two weeks, and so far the only issue is essentially a mechanical one: after about 6 days, the left tulip insert wants to start working its way out of the ear canal and has to be re-seated. but that is presumably an easy fix.
The aids work pretty much without a hitch with the Kirkland Signature Choice app, except for occasional low-level “dropouts” moving from one ear to the other a few times, and for no particular reason.
Integration with the phone caught me completely by surprise, and I was delighted when someone called and I hit the “answer” button on the iPhone, and suddenly I was having this conversation in my head!
Apart from these few minor issues, I find the KS-6 aids more than serviceable, and I was extremely impressed by the facilities and personnel at Costco. I was given hearing tests that no audiologist (going clear back to the Navy in the 1960’s) has ever performed on me.
I haven’t put up my yet- can someone inform me if there is a standard format for posting this? Thanks.
I know she’s wrong. The Unite Remote and Unite Remote 2 work just fine. I have and use both. I can’t answer the iPod Touch question, but know that the app works on the iPhone 5 and up.
My Audi said there is no remote since everything is controlled using a smartphone. I think she’s wrong
If I download the app with an Ipod touch, will that work??

There is no difference between the apps; Resound App (Smart)=Costco app except the backround color is different. I currently have the Linx2 5 and use the Resound App (Smart). It is identical to the Costco app.
I do not have any adjustments for Comfort In Noise, Speech Focus and Comfort in Wind with the Resound App (Smart). I wish I did! - where are you seeing that?

These features are only available in the Smart app if you’re using a LiNX2 9.
I was on the All Around program and both hearing aids were working fine. I then switched to Restaurant. The right HA was Ok for about 2 seconds then quit. The app said I was still connected with full battery power. Even the volume slider showed I was connected but moving the slider did nothing. I opened the battery compartment and started the hearing aid again. Again, it worked for about 2 seconds then quit. I said to myself, I must have a defective HA, but then I tapped the All Around program again and the right HA started working. So I tapped the Music program and the right HA still worked, then I tapped the restaurant again and lo and behold it worked. I tested the battery with a battery tester I got from Costco for these batteries and it showed full power as well.
I ask this question again as no one responded. I even emailed it to the KS6USERPORTAL but no response… I am still having this happen now and then. I even did a forget this device, hard reset, delete the choice app, turn on the iPhone, reinstall the app fresh, repair the hearing aids. When I open the app for the first time, you can see the hearing aids load with a progress bar at the top. The right hearing aid starts with a red x for a second then loads. Any idea what’s going on?
Well, I was using the iphone to adjust things and found quite a bit of oddities. Right now the iphone is locked up after trying to turn on all sounds through the aids. Just wanted to check it out and now it won’t acknowledge taps and swipes. Before, I’d notice the app changing could turn off or recycle the aids. So, is it the aid or is it the phone? My guess is phone. Maybe Apple will announce a OS upgrade at their doings and solve the problem.

This appears to be normal. When I first start the app for whatever reason the right side does delay for a second before pairing but once paired they both work just fine. If your only issue is that the right hearing aid delays a second before pairing I would say that is not much of an issue.
Remember to wait a while after you first pair your Iphone and KS6s before you start changing programs. The manual says to wait about 30 seconds until you hear three beeps to signal that the pairing is completed.
You can use the Apple utility screen in Settings to change volume and programs too. If your button clickmanship skills are up to it, you can triple click the home button on the Iphone and get directly to that screen. Or you can go to Settings, General, Accessibility, Hearing Aids, and then click on the where your hearing aids are listed in blue.
And try turning Hearing Aid Mode to ON too. I haven’t noticed any difference, but then my hearing isn’t very good.
