The OPNs don’t have a streamer since they directly connect to the iPhone. I was wondering if the Roger X mini receiver could be used with the OPNs to connect with the Roger Pen.

The OPN will have a streamer called the ConnectClip in Q1’17 that will work with Android phones and other Bluetooth devices. I don’t know if the ConnectClip has an audio in jack though.

Roger Pen uses a MLx fitting that is usually on the bottom of the Streamer. Expensive option though, considering the potential bluetooth connectivity.
Plus the Roger pen uses some pretty ancient proprietary at both ends which seems like a heck of a step back compared with the other options out there.

Wow I didn’t realize how expensive it is until I looked it up on buyhear.com4, for $750. I assume only people who already own a Roger Pen would want to be able to try to use it on the OPN.
We don’t really know whether the OPN ConnectClip streamer really has the MLx input jacks or not, do we?
Is there any similar but newer and better option out there that works for the OPN?

Not as yet, platform first, streamer next, add-on devices to follow. I know that sounds incredibly linear, but Oticon aren’t that big and it’s not a derivative product.

Any chance Costco carries the Roger Pen? If so, I bet their prices are pretty competitive. Sounds like it might be a bit too specialized for Costco, but if I were looking, I’d give it a check.

I bought my Roger Pen off eBay for $189 and it was a 2015 serial number so I feel I got a good bargain.

Wow, that sounds like a great bargain, especially for a 2015 SN. The ones I’m seeing today are for the 2014 SNs, I believe.
How do you like it? Which and which receiver do you use with it?
Is the battery removable/replaceable? How long does the battery last?

I’m wondering if Buyhear would pair a Roger Pen bought off EBay (assuming the ConnectClip could work with the Pen). Also how well does it work by pointing it at someone say during a meeting or conference? Or does the speaker need to wear it around the neck?

I would think that the pairing is between the Roger Pen and the MLx receiver that’s supposed to connect to the ConnectClip (if possible). So I don’t think BuyHear would have to do anything at all. It’d just be you doing the pairing between the Roger pen and the receiver yourself. You will probably pair the ConnectClip to the OPN yourself without anybody’s help either.

Possibly, but the previous iterations require Genie to be open/connected to the aids and a serial number to be entered to upload to the .

Hm, this is interesting. You mean the SN of the Roger Pen (or the MLx receiver) has to be uploaded to the ? If it’s a receiver that’s connected directly to the battery door of the HA then I can see why. But if it’s just the MLx receiver connected to the input of the streamer (like the ConnectClip) and not directly to the HA itself, I don’t understand why the HA mfg cares to get the SN of the external Roger receiver (or the Roger Pen) for. Isn’t it just an external audio source and should be treated like any external audio source driving the streamer?

The Roger Pen helps greatly in meetings, couldn’t be without it.
I wear Phonak Q70s with integrated receivers.
Battery life is great, I use size 13 batteries and they last 2 weeks.

Do you have the person doing the speaking wear it or are you able to get by with pointing the Roger Pen at the speaker? Or do you place it on the table for roundtable type meetings?
I’ve used the Live Listen feature on my iPhone and find that it produces an echo so I am hearing the person speak naturally and then a nanosecond later their voice is also streamed to my aids.

Just so I understand, a Roger Pen can not linked directly to your aids (in my case, Phonak Naida V90 UP)? You would need a receiver or Compilot?
