Costco Kirkland K7 turning off

I upgraded from Kirkland K5s to K7s about a month ago. I’m really happy with the (for me ) much better performance. The change is comparable to what I experienced from no aids to the K5s. My problem is that occasionally one of the aids drops out or turns down/off after a quick loud noise. Usually one or the other. I reboot it and its ok again. I brought one back and the technician replaced the mic/wire that goes from the aid into the ear. Now the problem happens occasionally with one or the other. I’m really happy with there performance, and wonder if any one has experienced a similar problem and how it was resolved. I make sure the domes are clean and the problem still occurs. TIA. Mark S.

Hmm. Nothing like that. I have occasional unexplained beeps. Does it stay off/down if you leave it alone? Wonder if some sort of limiter was triggered by loud noise and perhaps it would return to normal if just left alone?

And “limiter” was my imprecise word usage. I’m not confident of how the how the aids deal with loud sounds, but I’m pretty sure they try to limit noises to a certain decibel level, or perhaps they just don’t amplify loud noises? There are people on the forum who know.

Mine will do that from time to time for no apparent reason. Not often enough to cause concern. I just open the battery to reset it and it’s fine. Why it happens is a mystery. It has happened with both. I think nothing of it. I’m one year in to a 3 year warranty.

I have the same problem with my original Traex 42’s I am seeing Rexton Tech Specialist this Friday, will let you know what he says. My left is the one that fails - usually after a louder high pitched noise such as: I referee soccer end of game three blows on my whistle and thrid one took it out for about 40 minutes. My sister has small doxies, one howled right high pitch near me and took left out for about 30 minutes. I live near MCAS Mirmar air base, a jet hit after burners while I was working in garden, that took out left HA for about 25 minutes. Costco has replaced Hearing Aids, Receivers, everything - yet the problem comes up once every day or two at best. Tried shiftingthe levels on compression - that seems to help a little bit, but wuith the newest HA and Receivers (received last week) we decided to start all over and use just the basic setup based on my hearing tests. the above incidents haopoened within the last week all under the new units. So Rexton Tech coming out Friday to check it out. I report back to you.
