The saga seems to continue.
Had the aird replaced by OTICON for a 4TH time in the past year and a half or so.
This time the programming was far superior in every way to anything we did previously. Everything done from scratch. I will say that restaurants still suck even with NR pushed to the max. The BF nose if just overpowering even though I wear custom molded / fit domes.
Then…I paired to my Android phone via the Oticon app. Next I paired the Connect Clip to the phone.
An hour later the left aid drops out. It doesn’t shut off but rather gets so low in power that you can barely hear anything through it. Typically if I hold that aid in my hand it screams with feedback. Can’t get it to make a squeak even when this happens. Don’t ask me how I figured this out but the only way to go back to normal (qualified condition) id to blow hard in the where the goes and low and behold it roars back to life. I even had to show my audi that this was the case. Oticon has no clue as to why.
Then, I am having a conversation and all of a sudden have the sense that I am slurring my words and lisping. I have a cold coming on but this is out of nowhere. and my hearing sounds very muffled which I contribute to the oncoming cold. It makes me feel even sicker because my brain senses stuffed up sinuses. Two days later even after asking everyone if I am slurring my words and everyone saying they don’t think so, I go in to see my audi again.
She programs and brand new set of her demo aids and low and behold the clurring, lisping and feeling of plugged ears vanishes in an instance.
We descie to pair the aids to nothing for a day. They honestly work better than they have ever worked except they still suck in noise.
I then pair to the phone via the app. I run good for about 20 hours and then out of nowhere the left one goes silent. I remove it, put my mouth on it and blow hard and the damn thing roars back to life. Antor 24 hours and it doesn’t happen again so I connect to the conect clip by pairing to the aids and to the phone. Everything works great until I stream some music and all of a sudden the volume decreases in the left one and instantly I feel occluded and when I speak my voice again sounds to me as trough I have had a dam stroke, lisping and slurring all of m words although nobody else hears it apparently…and when we programmed this set of aids it went away instantly.
I unpair everything, uninstall everything, change batteries, change wax guards, turn aids on and off and now they are stuck in this damn mode again. Same thing that happened before. There seems to be no way for me the user to reset them to some semblance of normalcy.
I live in MA but will be in for a bit and my Audi has set up in conjunction with Oticon I believe and appointment wit a new AUDI down here on Tuesday of this week.
So damn frustrating.
