Q is the oldest, then V and the latest is B (for Beyond) If you’re getting new ones, get the Beyond. If you’re shopping for used you wouldn’t be giving up much of anything if you went with the Vs. However, first thought that comes to mind is if you’ve considered Cochlear implants? You would appear to be a candidate.

I’ll be going to my in 1.5 weeks… the audiologist at their clinic will give me a hearing test to find out what’s going on with my right ear. I’m profoundly deaf in the right ear, but here’s the weirdest thing: drop a pot on a bare floor I’ll jump at the loudness of it. My ENT says my eardrum isn’t fixed… it’s moving as it should be. This is one mystery I’m ready to solve! And I could have sworn he says something about ‘cochlear’ for that ear. Eek! Why the ‘eek’? I have NO speech comp, I mean ZERO, ZIP, NADA. Would a help with that? This is something that I’ll have to post to the CI group on FB about this.
My left ear is still the ‘good’ ear… will need to keep wearing ’s for a while until I can’t hear a blessed thing with a HA.

Cochlear implants can help with speech comprehension, but everybody is an individual. Good question for the and audiologist. If you do go with cochlear implant, I think it matters which hearing aid you get on the other ear so I’d have a plan before moving forward with hearing aids.

Google Phonak History, you will see a general summary of their chip progression. B stands for Belong etc.
