Was that before or after OHIP’s contribution?
You’re ignoring this member’s posts.
That was before. After OHIP she said she paid $1,000.
I was under the impression the K9’s are cheaper than the K8’s and K7’s?
When I got my K7’s a couple years ago I believe I paid approx $2,100 before OHIP. I’d have to look at my old records.
I’m looking to get the K9’s myself next April after my 3 year OHIP contribution resets.

I have only followed the pricing in the last couple of years or so. The KS8 was introduced I recall at $2000, but later due to US-CDN exchange increased to $2150. Now the KS9 was at least introduced at $2000 again. The price drop in the US has been a pretty constant $100 or so with each new model.

Hello everyone, I come from Taiwan,
I just joined this community,
I’m not good at English.
I now try GOOGLE translation exchange with all.
Has anyone tried KS 9.0 successfully connected to Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter Receiver?
Because I think I can buy the Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter Receiver for $29.99 and successfully link the KS9.0 hearing aid.
I want to use this method instead of the phonak TV Connector.
Has anyone tried it successfully?
Or do some people think that this alternative is not recommended?
By the way, Taiwan is expected to begin selling KS9.0 hearing aids at the end of September.
Possible pricing is 49999NT$ (1613.42 US$),
I am looking forward to the performance of KS9.0, thank you all.

so it seems that every Costco have a bit different prices
Aren’t you really just talking about the US dollar vs the Canadian dollar, or are you really finding different KS9 prices from store to store within the same country? Please clarify.

No. When I got my KS7’s in Mar '17, the exchange would have meant that Americans could come to a Canadian Costco and save a bunch of money.
I don’t know about now.
As for different pricing between stores…hmm. Maybe due to different taxes in different jurisdictions with different styles of showing price. All-in or before tax. Dunno.
Edit: nevermind. Mar '17 $1999 a pair plus a stupid eco fee of 80 cents.

Hi Danuta!
Thanks for the clarification!
I just purchased/ordered my KS9s here in USA and am awaiting their delivery, but I was curious since I am close to the border.

I just purchased a KS9 today, be about 2 weeks to get them in. I have an iphone so expecting no issues with connecting via to the KS9. I was disappointed though when told that other BT devices, like a TV, needs an additional TV connector. So my KS9 won’t be able to connect to my laptop that has BT? not my TV that has BT? Bummer. Is this correct??

I don’t think that’s correct. I’ve heard reports of people connecting directly to laptop with and TV seems reasonable. I understand using TV connector uses less battery.

That sounds highly unlikely. In fact, I ordered mine without the TV connector in the expectation that my old Avantree 164ft long-range Bluetooth Transmitter, which is already plugged into the back of our TV, will work with it. I will report back either way after I get them.

Avantree 164ft long-range Bluetooth Transmitter
Looks interesting. Will be watching for your review. Will be interested in the latency as well as the range,
Thanks
Went to their web site and found this one, even more range. And usb 5.
https://avantree.com/long-range-bluetooth-transmitter-and-receiver-avantree-tc41914 Anybody tried these?

I don’t think there is a problem that would prevent linking to another Bluetooth device, although I haven’t attempted it. However, I feel that the TV Connector is a better solution and well worth the cost. The TV Connector doesn’t use Bluetooth. That has an advantage, since you can only pair with one Bluetooth device at a time. If you use a Bluetooth to improve listening to your TV or stereo, you’ll need to unpair from your phone. Having to pair/unpair each time would seem to be a burden.
However, if you do decide to go the Bluetooth device route, let us know your experience.

my lg tv also has bt. but when you choose the bt output it mutes the speakers…so i use the tv adapter hooked to xfinity box via fiber optic. happy camper

I know I shouldn’t be posting about these aids when I’ve only had them something like 4 hours now, but I’m so tickled I can’t help myself.
For starters they seem so small and light it’s as if they’re not there. I’m coming from Rexton Trax 42s with custom molds. These have small power domes. I got the molds primarily because with domes, the Trax were constantly backing out of my ears, but even with the molds the right side, where the canal is quite straight is still a problem. So far the KS9s haven’t budged.
Then phone calls. So far I’ve called Amazon customer service over a problem I had, a credit card company to activate a new card, and a friend to use as a guinea pig. No one seems to be having problems hearing me, and on my end it’s wonderful. Admittedly I didn’t call from my car, which has a lot of road noise, or outside, but from home.
The only thing so far that isn’t great is the radio in my car. I listen to a lot of talk radio and the voices sound what I can only call too sharp. Playing music, the singers’ voices still sound that way, although the music behind the voices is good. I made an appointment for 10 days ahead, so will see what can be done about that then.
The hearing business in my Costco seems to have picked up dramatically. They’ve installed a new testing booth and have an in addition to the audi I’ve always seen. (I know that because I did the walk-around-the-store test and ordered the aids from the new person and saw the audi today.)

This is typical from what I’ve heard and experienced, although you are a previous user so it shouldn’t be so stark. Give it a few weeks to get used to them and then go back to your audi about it. My higher-gain side is definitely “sharp” and “ringy”, still that way after 2 months. I’ve set up an appointment to try to address it now.

Thanks, haggis.
Since my Costco’s hearing department is now booming, I set up an appointment for 10/4 for adjustments when I was there on the theory it’s easier to cancel than to get into a crowded schedule. I was lucky with my original appointment to test the KS9s in that I called and the call before me was a cancellation for the next day, did I want it? You bet.
Some of this, I’m sure, is my needing time to adjust to different aids, and in 10 days I hope to have that sorted. The audi also left off the sports locks (?), whiskers I think of them as, and I think I’m going to ask for them back. It’s easy to insert the Trax by pushing on the butts of the molds. These KS9s not so much, and the only way to remove them is by the receiver wires, which doesn’t seem like such a good idea. The wires are much thinner than those on the Trax.
I’m not going to think about molds again unless I decide to keep them for sure. Same for the tv transmitter. I don’t watch a lot of tv, don’t even watch every day. I got out of the habit during the time I needed aids and couldn’t understand tv dialog and was stopped from doing anything by price. (My first tentative investigation into aids led to an audi who tried to sell me $7,000 worth of Widex and then tried to scare me with visions of dementia if I didn’t buy them. I’m totally resistant to that kind of thing.) Anyway, I can still switch to the Trax and use that for the tv for a few weeks.
