I haven’t heard of anybody’s experience with this. How’s it working? Please include phone you’re using, and expecially if you’ve managed to make it work with something besides a Pixel 3 or 3A series.

Yes, one can update his via smartfit, i’ve made this, but i have neither pixel 3, no 3a, moreover, after updating my HA reject connecting with Smart 3d on my smartphone, because now it need in BT5 (and pairs with such devices without problems), my smartphone has just BT4.2 (paired very well before updating HA).

This can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned. I’ve just dropped my effing phone clip again. This time while walking the dog. I guess we’re going for another walk in a minute.

My TV streamer that worked with my Compilot won’t pair, much to my dismay. I will have to buy a special model made for Marvels for that. And streaming has significant latency. The only way to get around that is, yet again, to buy the special Phonak accessory.
Well, you can look at it as a hardship or look at it as an advantage. The TV Connector is so much better in setup, connection and reconnection, and latency over Bluetooth I won’t even consider using for TV streaming.
You can get the TV connector for about half price on EBay or about 1/3 of the price at Costco. I hear the TV Connector for Costco KS-9’s is identical to compatible with the Phonak.

I usually clip my Phone Clip+ to my left collar or shirt neck opening while attached to the lanyard rather than just letting the PC+ hang vertically on a lanyard. For me, it seems less likely to come off in this position or if driving, get in the way of seat belt buckling or removal, etc. While the inner loophole for holding the lanyard isn’t as good as for the Multi Mic, I always check when putting the PC+ on that the lanyard goes as far back as possible into the clip. It’s pretty rare for me to have the PC+ come loose from around the collar area.

So I got my Nucleus 7 firmware update. works on the Resound Quattro and Nucleus 7, was able to stream them both at the same time, It is streaming in true stereo mode (meaning the left and right channels are separate but there is an issue with synchronization of both devices (there is a delay between the hearing aid and ci). my audiologist called cochlear and said it was a known issue.

Haggis,
I will take a look at the TV connector. But, on the other hand, I find the audio quality through the Marvels severely lacking. So, I might just stick to using headphones. The Bluetooth streaming using my phone seems to have issues as well. It does work, but not that well. I did turn down the TK35 gain and that quieted things down a good bit. I wasn’t even aware that existed.

I’ve got an old iPhone 5c stashed in my closet. I’ve toyed with the idea of checking to see if my marvels will connect with it. I have some MFIs as well–My thinking is that I could use it as a back-up if something goes wrong with my current LG.

I’ve been tempted to ask my wife for one of her old iPhones as a hand-me-down but now that Microsoft seems pretty committed to Android and things might be getting interesting with the Surface Duo, Galaxy Fold, and other similar devices (if only they had a reasonable price!), I’m more tempted to just wait and see what happens with Android and - since Microsoft emphasized that they are “partnering” with Google to produce the device, it’ll be interesting to see if it’s an ASHA-capable device.

Haggis,
I have what Phonak calls cShells. They seem smaller than the Resound moulds I had before. They have a small silicone rubber tube sticking out toward my ear drum about a quarter of an inch. There are no . I find them very comfortable.

So the provide sealing of the ear canal like a full dome or earmold, right?
Bottom line is that Phonak does jack-all about proper equalization for streaming media. It’s significantly different from microphone-input sounds.
In any event, if your domes are at all closed you can get reasonable bass frequencies. You just need to tune the equalization so that it produces flat sound (with enhancements for your hearing profile) across the band.
My audi isn’t that receptive about this, so I’m still working on it. I’m trying to see if there’s a way we can stream the white-noise and let it equalize the response. We shall see.

Not sure how this is relevant to Android and streaming. Maybe posting in a thread on molds or Phonak would gather more attention from other users with similar concerns, who might be less likely to come across your observations and comments in the Android/ReSound/ASHA thread.

Actually I was addressing your comment:

The EQ is all wrong in Marvels for streaming sources. They just apply the same EQ to streaming that they apply to microphone-input programs.

Very interesting statement, haggis. Do you have a source? I ask because I stream music in lossless CD quality from Primephonic.com and the quality is astounding. I can hear the difference in quality between MP3 recordings from Google Play Music and the lossless streaming quality I get from Primephonic. I know that I have a hearing loss in the high frequency range and streaming through my Marvels goes a long way in compensating for my loss. I know that I’ll never again have the hearing I had in my teens and twenties. But I do know that I can now once again experience that sweet sound of an orchestral string section that I’ve been missing for years.
When not streaming and depending on what the ’s can do, when I play my concert grand piano I hear an added fullness that I haven’t experienced in years and I can once again hear the last octave all the way up to C8, the highest note on the piano. For live music I use the “music program” and I have WhistleBlock = OFF.

I’ve been following this issue with interest because like some others, I find the streaming quality in the two Phonaks I’ve tried to be severely lacking. One was the Audeo Marvel, the other the Kirkland 9s I’m wearing now. The fitting on the Marvel was pretty quick and dirty so that may deserve another look. As for the Kirklands, granted, they’re not full-blown Marvels but a lot of the extra performance of the latter is due to added functionality, I believe, such as , rechargeability option etc. I think the audio quality per se should be pretty dang close when optimally tuned.
When I faulted the streaming quality of the Marvels with my main audiologist she suggested my expectations may be unrealistic. Meanwhile I’ve spent a lot of time with my Costco specialist with the same results–I feel as if the streaming is just routing around whatever frequency compensation is supposed to be going on. Later this week my intrepid Costco specialist is having me meet with a Phonak rep who comes in once a month to see if we’re missing anything.
I really need to add my to this site. I wonder if Gary’s superior experience is party due to the kind of loss he has. Mine, primarily in my left ear, has a cookie bite IIRC in the lower frequencies, then it comes up, then it falls off again. I’ve followed Gary’s posts closely because I’m an amateur musician and music lover and I keep hoping I can get better results than I have thus far.

Chris, you are probably on to something there. I know that my Marvels are doing almost nothing in the extreme bass region. So the deep bass I’m getting from my 7’ 5" concert grand comes through beautifully.
As far as your expectation of experiencing the same kind of chest thumping bass you get in live music, it really is totally unrealistic to get that from the little Phonak transducers in your ears. I do hear the bass when streaming, it just doesn’t have the visceral effect of live bass. I have a tone generator program on my Pixel 3 XL phone that verifies that I am hearing down to about 50 Hz. I just don’t get that visceral bass sound that I would get with external live sound.
The bottom line is that I’m thrilled with what I’m getting from the Marvels, but I realistically know that it isn’t the same as what I heard when I was younger. I’ll look forward to your entering your so we have a better idea of where you’re coming from.
