I am a little late getting into this. Haven’t worn my aids in over a year, but that’s another story. I keep seeing that you can get a Roger X receiver and transfer the license to Marvels by use of a “Roger Updater”.
Is that a device? Of so, where can one obtain it? What should it cost? I have a Roger pen, but have to use the Mylink with it. Having to set the aids to the program, turn on the Mylink, pair the pen, while in a store trying to communicate with a sales associate is all a bit much. Actually, since COVID, I haven’t actually had much of a chance to even try the pen. I found a Select in a thrift store for $15, and after some fiddling with it, managed to get it working. But, other than just sitting it on a desk and talking, I haven’t even had the chance to try it. I would like to give aids one more try before giving up on them, and hearing people in noise is the one area where I think they might be of use. I find the discussion of Roger fascinating. Some love them, some don’t. Same is true of aids as well. My experience hasn’t been a good one, though I had high hopes. So, if someone can explain the whole Roger X thing to me, I would really appreciate it.

Only an audiologist will be able to order the Roger Installer for you to transfer the Roger X licenses as long as the serial numbers are later then 1744.

Unless you get lucky on eBay - they do seem a rare find though. If you do get one, transferring the licenses is easy, and having the Roger stuff go direct to the aids is a treat!

I had a senior moment and called Roger Installer Roger Updater, which is software. So, I can’t install the licenses from a Roger X receiver into my Marvels. I was wondering if I were to buy a “X” receiver off eBay, how do I know if it still has the licenses? I have a Roger Mylink. Would it, by any chance contain licenses? Guess it doesn’t matter. I couldn’t get them into my Marvels anyway.

I believe somebody on here did obtain a Roger Installer and successful instal Roger X licenses, so it is possible. To know wheter a Roger X receiver has it’s license, you need to know the serial number cutoff and you need to take the seller’s word that it still has the license. All the info is on the forum. Maybe somebody will provide the answers.
