I think if you can get there they could do the followups remotely. I would verify that with the costco you might go to.

You could also look on ebay or similar. You would then need to find a local person to set them up. They are not locked to costco. You could also self program. See the diy forum here for details. It is very complicated but can be done if you are willing to take the time and effort.

Good luck

You can’t make the adjustments yourself. With the possible exception of Philips, they’re locked

Not all are locked, seems the Resound models are, but Phonak and Phillips are no problem to program yourself.

eBay is a good solution, I’ve seen a couple of KS9 and KS10 come up.

Thanks for your answers (everyone)

I am thinking of buying the future Phonak Brio 5 which is not on sale yet because I want it to be based on Phonak Naida Paradise.
I would like a more advanced technological level and for me the Phonak Naida P90 is too expensive in Croatia.

I looked on ebay, which is offered by Costca hearing aids, but there is nothing new, it probably doesn’t show me because there is no delivery to my country.

How much more can I do with NoahLink and the Target software than I can do by simply creating and saving my own programs with the MyPhonak app?

It’s just Costco’s version of Target that doesn’t offer Tinnitus settings.

Just trying to get my ducks in a row. I plan on buying the KS 10’s next week, but I want to be able to change settings myself with a Noaklink wireless and the Phonak Target software. I’ve had a pair of Unitron Moxi Fit Pro’s for over 5 years now, and I’ve done all the programming myself since new with a Unitron iCube II and Unitron’s Fit software.

IIRC someone here mentioned a Fitter or enabling it on their Phonak device from Costco. Someone else has said it looks like standard Target software at their local store. So it may be there. Doesn’t matter, though. The feature is not available through them. The devices support it, but the feature gets mixed reviews as to the effectiveness.

Yes, very disappointing. If you check the App Store, and sort reviews on MyPhonak by date, the app gets low reviews mainly for this shortcoming. The solution is to turn off notifications. So, if you’re on a Restaurant setting and get an emergency text, you’ll be able to finish dinner while your family member dies. Idiots! I’m exchanging my 9.0 for 10.0 next Friday and will try to get my watch to trigger a vibrate notification when phone sound is off. Note, if you have haptics on and close a phone case, the click also disables App settings. :confounded:

Can’t you set notifications to cause the phone to vibrate but make no sound?

I’ve had the KS10’s 3 months now and have 2 questions;

  1. When will the app be fixed? I know this has been beat to death BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
I’ve had the firmware updated to the ’s and have the latest app version 3.0.2.
Still cannot keep it from switching back to AUTOMATIC after selecting TV or Restaurant programs.
Yes all sounds have been turned off on my iPhone 12 Mini.
I thought the new firmware and app updates were supposed to fix it.
  2. How do you keep an incoming phone call from ringing in your HA’s?
It blasts my ears and very painful. I have TAP control turned off.
Costco and Phonak support could not help.

Tinnitus Balance (Phonak’s term for masking) is available in the versions of Target obtainable in the page on this site. You can find it in the Global Tuning tab in the Fitting section. Costco’s copy of Target does not have this feature (at least my did not have it in hers) .

Hi.

I have had this small problem, Ks10 green led on fixed on the left aid, when I tried to connect via bluetooth.
There was no way to turn it off by pressing the bottom button or saving the green led in the charging case.
Finally, by pressing the lower button for about half a minute, the green led has turned off and it seems to be working correctly again.

Does anyone know why this has happened and it has happened to someone else, thank you.

Some parts of the country have many more installed than others. It’s important to remember that Bluetooth only connects within a limited number of feet, whereas a hearing loop can connect one in a huge area. This is why loops are suitable for auditoria and houses of worship, whereas Bluetooth is better suited to your living room or car. There are still many loop enthusiasts out there beating the drum for more installations. The fact that loops are “one serves many” is a big selling point.

For ~$55:

  • Longer range means stronger connection, audio won’t cut in / out easily. 1Mii long range Bluetooth adapter tested can achieve a range up to 230ft (70m) line-of-sight in open air and up to 80-110ft (25-35m) indoors. you will still be able to enjoy the safety and security of having your cellphone in your pocket while you listen.
  • 【CRYSTAL SOUND, NO DELAY】AptX Low Latency and AptX HD technology eliminate Bluetooth audio delay, B03 can works with 2 Bluetooth headphones / speakers simultaneously, BOTH enjoy ultra-fast, high fidelity audio.

When BT comes along, devices like these will be able to broadcast one-to-many receivers. With a few of them, you’ll be able to cover a big church-sized area. Loop technology will be expensive old-guard stuff. And the means an increased size body at the possible expense of battery or other electronics for a given size body. Just like classic BT, though, there will be a need for telecoil in HA’s for many years to come because of need for backwards compatibility with existing facilities but when it comes time to renovate or rebuild, there will be economic and flexibility disincentives to going with loop. With BE LE Audio, you could have English, French, and Spanish broadcasts via BT in a movie theater, for example, or an airplane concourse.

Had my hearing test at Costco this morning: not much difference from three years ago. Walked around the store with my wife for a while wearing the new aids. Seemed OK, but my own footsteps and chewing sounds seemed louder than previously, and the hearing-aid guy said I might need smaller domes.
I ordered a pair and have an appointment to pick them up in two weeks, and another appointment for a follow-up two weeks after that.

The TV Connector is at present totally unavailable because of the chip shortage, but they will let me know when they are available. I’ll make do with my Siemens transmitter in the meantime.
