Miracle-ear problems

Honestly, I have fitted almost every major brand of hearing aid during my career which began in 1994. Although I have not personally fitted a Miracle Ear, I have seen many patients who already have one, and in my professional opinion, these devices suck!

Of all the major brands the one I see needing to be replaced often within 3 years or less of fitting is this brand. I’ve even fitted patients who have had a Miracle Ear for less than 18 months. I cannot say that about any other brand.

I have no beef with Miracle Ear, I’ve never worked for them. I am not some kind of disgruntled former employee. Nor am I the kind of person who thinks that all companies I don’t work for sucks. But from everything I have seen I am not a fan.

On a side note I find the marketing they do in my area to be total bottom fishing. Two for the price of one, and other nonsense con-tricks. Again, not a fan.

My suggestion is to return them and try a more advanced brand. Starkey, Audibel, Siemens, ReSound, Oticon, Widex, even Phonak if you have to.

Otherwise, Caledb18 has some great points. Although you say the fit is great, and I would be surprised if you have wax if you just got the aids. No ethical dispenser would have taken impressions of your ears if they were blocked with wax.

All hearing aids will make some kind of noise when you remove them though. This is quite normal. They are designed to be feedback free when fitted perfectly. As you take them out of your ears with your fingers over the microphone, they are very likely to whistle.

I have gearing aids from Miracle Rar that have been computer adjusted by their technician many times plus 3 times returned to their factory The volume is inadequate and limited control access by the wearer as these are computerized devices
I would never buy them again
I tried to return them before the thirty day grace period. My letters and calls went unanswered until after the thirty day limit
Their customer service is terrible. Always an excuse why they don’t work probably
Wax build up, lack of cleaning by customer etc etc. I’m still paying for them and far from satisfied

I have Audibel platinum A4 IQ.
Which are Muse 2400 IQ.
I’ve had ten audiologist in six years. No one would stick around.
They were young out of school.
They sell first ask questions later.
I’m trialing different aids now. Resounds.
I have not formed an opinion on them yet.
The only problem I have with the new one is she didn’t listen either.
They look at my audiogram.
They fail to listen when I tell them that my left ear is distorted.
I have trouble hearing correctly.
I think the frequencies may have to be tinkered with to compensate.
I’ll see.

I consulted a Orofessor of Audiology at the local college. He told me Miracle Ear buys these computerized hearing aids that only they can adjust. He was unable to help me and won’t even accept them for a program he had to sell used aids to folks who otherwise could not afford them

Mine same as you described distort the sound and buzz in my ears. Not worth 5000

Yeah it’s outrageous in this day and age that a company still “locks out” their product, no HAs are worth 5k, but if it makes you feel better, others pay up to 8k and then still complain and unhappy with the results!
Dump them in the top drawer and go to Costco, you’ll only pay around $1600 for premium models and get great service and warranty.
