I know there are various topics about this, but just wanted to share what I heard (finally) from Oticon from my review (1 star…) of the app in the Apple app store… short version: I have had the issue of aids disconnecting from app , as well as randomly restarting , while using TV adapter 3.0 box … I have tried NUMEROUS times asking my audiologist (who never got an answer from Oticon) , also tried talking to Apple accessibility folks with no luck… I was at Verizon store the other day chatting with the associate there, and he said : “sounds like a Bluetooth interference issue” … he was close… Below is the response I got from Oticon… I haven’t done their “radical” fix (turn off TV box, etc) - I assume that is only a temporary fix anyway, but I’ll give it a try… I did appreciate their response…
Here’s response I got from Oticon app support today:
"thank you for reaching out.
We are aware of the issue, that is related to the interference of radio signals, rather then Bluetooth. In a nutshell, the Tv-adaptor and the phone overlaps in trying to set a connection with the Hearing Aids. We are working on this issue hand in hand with phone manufacturers in order to bring a long term solution.
As for now we can only offer workarounds. You have already tried the YouTube workaround. I have a second, more radical one.
Start afresh by turning off the TV-adaptor and disconnecting and re-connecting the aids.
Before connecting the TV-adaptor, start streaming (it can be anything from a Youtube video or a music app like Spotify), and only after this, connect to the TV-A.
Is it working any better now?
Best regards,
Alessandra
