Man, I really want to try that feature. But my current Android phone from 2018 works just fine.
It’ll be a pity if it somehow falls out of a window…

I went to my local today and they got my Resound ONE hands free connected to my Iphone 11 and it seems to work good.

I’ve found that in quiet areas it is great. However in the car it is fair - I’ve been told lots of noise from the callers. And in any wind really not good. However, overall I am very happy.

I was told that while I was driving home there was a lot of road noise. It was a bad road and that car has a lot of road noise. But on my end everything sounds good

It is great for answering calls. But as far as I can tell, if I initiate a call, there is no way to use it, is that correct?

For me it works either way. I have an iPhone. I just make sure to select hearing aids on the call screen.

I’ve only had my hands free hooked up a few days. But I just hit the call button on my Iphone 11 and put the phone back in my holster. When I finish my call I just tap the button on my right ear to hang up. Is that what you’re taking about?

Yes, thanks. So it automatically works when initiating a call, while receiving a call you must push the button for it to work hands free.

It depends on your phone and setup. On my phone - ios - I have it set to choose the aids first so just answering on the phone sends the call to my aids automatically.

OK, sorry to be so dense, but I want to make sure I understand. I have an iPhone 12 and the firmware update.
Using my iPhone, which always sends the call to my aids, if I get a call I can press the button on the aids and will hear the caller thru the aids as always, and my voice will get picked up via the microphone on the aids. And if I’m in a noisy environment, I can always talk into the phone like I normally do, even though I answered in hands free mode. If I don’t press the button to answer the call, but answer from the phone, I must talk into the phone like before the latest firmware.
To start a call, I just dial as usual, and as usual the caller will be heard thru my aids, but now my voice will be picked up by the microphone on the aids. But if I wanted, I could still pick up the phone and speak into it as always, and my voice will be picked up by the phone.
Is this right?

Mostly…
I’ve never answered using the aids, but I answer on the phone and it uses the mic on the aids. Same as if I make the call.
However - you can manually select whether it will automatically choose one ear, only right, only left or phone for microphone in the accessibility settings (I triple click and it brings up the aids and programs). This cannot be changed while in the call. You can set it to whatever, but not once the call starts. Male sense?

Yes, makes sense. My Input Options were set to Automatic by my Costco tech, and it seems to be working as I described above.
Answering by clicking the button on the aids is really useful, not having to pick up the phone…

That I will have to try. I usually use the phone as I won’t answer without seeing who it is and I need the phone for that

It’s not quite so simple. Android has the capability to use Bluetooth and , which should include handsfree. Although Android is capable, the number of phones that are is very limited and hearing aids are limited to Resound Nexia (just released) i don’t think phones will get handsfree capability. It will likely only be through LE Audio.
