How to disable Widex Moment automatic program switching?

I’m demoing Widex Moments and have found that no matter what setting I have selected manually, there is an automatic process running that changes the program based on what it hears. I was listening to music the other night and it kept switching programs on me, every 10-30 seconds or so. The change in sound from the music program I had selected and the program it was choosing automatically was very noticeable. I finally gave up and put them away.

I’m using Oticon Opn S for my current aids and they don’t switch around like this.

Is there a way to disable this automatic switching?

Hi, some more information please. Were you listening to music via streaming or listening using external speakers?
When listening to sound via streaming, the Moment have a music setting and a speech setting, and are supposed to automatically choose which setting to use.

You can change the speed of how quickly automatic programme changes happen. It sounds like you have conflicting noise going on that means they are battling between recognising for example music, or social. You can have a programme set up separately that you can choose and could then move to this dedicated music setting. It’s also worth checking the set up, did you have a sensogram, correct hearing aid type selected, vent size (or no vent) plus feedback calibration all selected/completed? If something is missing the sound may not be recognised as clearly as in the correct set up, leading to possible confusion in the software.

Thanks for the answer. When I change from the Universal program on my Widex Moments to the Music program using the Widex Moment app on my iPhone, the stay on the Music program until either I manually change to another program (via the app) or I turn the HAs off.
If I have turned the HAs off, then when next I turn them on the HAs will start up in my default program which is Universal.
If your Moment HAs are not staying on the Music program after you have selected it, then there is something wrong with how your Moment HAs are setup.

I am experiencing this also.

I use the Puresound program most of the time. It sounds far more natural than the Universal program. Give it a try.

I have the Moment 440. In my case, it happens mostly when I’m driving. The noisier the car is (we have a couple), the more it changes. I can hear frequency response changes, noise reduction changes, possibly compression changes, and it occurs independantly in each ear.

I have not tried using the Music setting yet when driving to see if it does not occur. However, I don’t like the Music setting even for listening to music. It changes the sound way too much. Perhaps this is because my hearing loss is not severe and/or I’m an audiophile.

My audiologist tried to change some settings by turning off certain parameters and creating a new program. It reduces the automatic changes but doesn’t sound natural at all.

I’d like to create a program that’s exactly like Puresound, but just “turn off” all the automatic changes the ’s make based upon what environment they think I’m in.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Otherwise, I love these things.
