Rename Phonak Audeo P90

I don’t think the thread was started to see who agrees with Kevin’s perspective or belief that others may wish to hide their hearing loss.

rather the below question was raised by @Confused

"I really do not want the words “hearing aid” or Phonak, etc to show when connecting to anything (TV, Computer, Bluetooth, etc) Is there a way that I can rename it so everything will just show my chosen name “Streaming” ?"

Thus far I am not sure where I have seen you or Kevin answer that question?

The answer is “Yes”
Beyond that… who has the right or authority to question why another owner of a Bluetooth device wishes to rename it?

I am not a Moderator, but would think if one wanted a thread on whether or not people want to hide their hearing loss they should create one. But I doubt seriously if that is what any one that has renamed their bluetooth device was trying to do. Good Lord people, if you are wearing it how are you hiding? I wear 2 every day, but I named by bluetooth devices as I wished. I think the extrapolation was unfair and misguided to the original poster and others that may have responded in-kind.

Not sure how your request went down the track it did but yes you can rename it to anything you please. I opted to rename my Right & Left per the above picture. But the more I read this thread, I am thinking about removing the word Phonak and going in complete hiding.

I originally renamed mine because #1 the default name was way too long and #2; I didn’t think the word Phonak Hearing Aid was necessary. Phonak does not pay me to market their products. I am the same guy that will NOT buy any car if the dealer name is not cleanly removed. I am not ashamed of my car or my hearing aids despite what anyone else may suggest or believe.

In truth @dkoldman, I have only 1 set of aids that are renamed with my initials; KM Aids, I didn’t ask for them to be renamed, the NHS A.uD decided to rename them off his own bat I could change that myself with Target, but I see no point, KM Aids is fine by me…. But @Confused is more than welcome to get his A.uD to rename his aids, to whatever he deems appropriate, and for whatever reason’s that are important to him/her, you can indeed rename your aids, to whatever you want…. In fairness, HE asked me when he got in the middle of a discussion he wasn’t a part of. I meant my comment respectfully and he took it that way. AND he and I are all good now. So unless it’s a habit around here to get in each other’s business, I hope we’re good too.

I admit I don’t really know or care what you meant by this, but it felt like you were struggling to make some kind of tough statement. In any case, glad to hear you’re done.

Any tips on how I can conceal my spectacles so people don’t realise I have a vision problem?

You can borrow @Psych1 brown paper bag, stick it over your head, and hide both your glasses, and your hearing aids! I hope this helps

Thanks, @kevels55 . That’s very helpful. I can’t understand why more glasses-wearers don’t do it.

The main reason for asking the question, is to have an idea if Stride is good as a backup HA, or does one stick with the same HA model if possible?

I had a wee look at the PDF sheet, they appear to be fairly similar, but not the same? So I can’t honestly say, wot like? Cheers Kev
