There’s some kind of a program for low income people needing hearing aids. I qualify HOORAY FOR ME BEING IN THE LOSERS CLUB. But they require $300 up front and I think non refundable. Know anyone they helped? How did it turn out. $300 is a huge amount to me and I can’t afford to throw it down a rabbit hole.
I use starkey, (although not anymore ) and it’s very good ( I’ve tried many hearing aids and starkey is the most stable ) . if you can program it yourself. and if you hand over the program to audioology, I think that all hearing aids are no different .
I thought they closed down? What I do know is you will get top of the line hearing aids including a provider to fit them and that the total cost is extremely low (. $300) for a set that doesn’t sell for less than 3k, I would guess. So, if they are open and they approve your application it is well worth it.https://www.starkeyhearingfoundation.org/Contact-Us2. doesn’t look like they do adults from the web page info.
Not sure why you think they are helping me because ive only exchanged emails.
Here is their program in a nutshell. You go audiologist on their list. You have your application filled out. He will tell you based on income you do or dont qualify.
If you qualify he will do a hearing test. You have to pay $300 now for hearing aids and this is important.
In their charity program the ONLY hearing aid its possible for you to get is a Livio 1000 with one of various tips like Receiver in your ear or behind your ear.
Thats an entry level aid thats not even as good as mine which is failing me. This is straight from Starkey the list of aids you might get. See the list below. If you have anything but mild hearing loss these aids arent what you need. If you come back for the ONE OF FIVE free folo ups and say you cant hear with these most likely to help they will increase the loudness…
Look up one of the Livio 1000 and you can see they are not hearing aids that will help those with profound hesring loss…
Its nice Starkey does this but its just not anything but basic technology.
