With your I can not imagine a fitter putting domes in your ears. Ear molds should be a huge improvement.

My 100 receivers with power domes are backing out
@prodigyplace: What Raudrive and @kevels55 said … are you sure about yer audi? I mean - why did they ever give you those domes?

On reflection… The only problem I have had in the past with the 105db custom molds, is the receivers blowing, but this is most likely them being partially maxed out, due perhaps to my loss… But, I keep a new ready made spare set for this eventuality… Cheers Kev

@kevels55: Och, laddie, 'tis nae but the vapours from thay wee dram, Kev! They catch fire and explode at the farces recounted by yer 8ball mates! (I stayed with 100dB receivers on the advice of my audiologist, btw.)

I had initially suggested molds but I guess she wanted to try domes because my old aids had tulip domes. I have had molds in the past.

She is only a couple of years out from graduation and I moved from tulip domes on the Costco aids. She works with Phonak more than Oticon.

Hi Jim, can you provide a photo shot of the new mold. I might have one made by my Audi using a 105db mic and hope for the best for my type of hearing loss. Thank you

Hi Kevels, can you PM a photo shot of the acrylic custom molds. I might made one with 105db mic per your advice earlier. As I am having More 1 with power dome and performance was not that good for my type of hearing loss…

@danka : Certainly …
I don’t have time to do any better tonight. If you need better shots, please let me know tomorrow.

Is the receiver removable/replaceable from your molds if they go bad, Jim? I have acrylic molds for my 105 and there seems to be door to remove the receiver, and my right one went bad but I can’t seem to open that door to remove/replace the receiver. I just went back to my 85 dB receivers because those work Ok, too for me. But would be nice to know if your (different kind of mold) is designed to have the receiver removable or not.

@Volusiano: No, MrV - my reveivers are 100 , and they appear to be sealed inside the mold.
Erratum YES - the receiver can be removed from the earpiece.

V… The new molds from Oticon are being made w/ 3D printers, and the receivers are sealed in the mold!
It sucks, cause now you can’t just replace receivers yourself anymore.
Edit: I have the acrylics w/ 85dB receivers.

The receiver seems to fit into a receppacule. Looks like a plug that’s designed to be removed with a sharp pick or similar tool…
No time tonight. Tomorrow.
