I actually just wave my hands nearby like I’m doing hearing aid reiki and it gains my patients 10% (using live voice).

@Neville :Outstanding!
[Addendum: Do you think Electro-reik’ via FaceTime would work?]

Totally worth a trip to the office… although, the monetization prospects if done remotely must be attractive.

@greg.smith: I would estimate that 80% of my needs post initial fitting could be satisfied by means of remote adjustments.

I think this is perhaps my legacy of NHS Audiology departments, basically here in the UK, you got one fitting, so tweaking aids never happened, apart from that initial fitting appointment, if you wanted a followup visit, you might wait 6 months or so, you adapted to the aids, not the other way round…
Persistence with badly programmed aids, works eventually, that is not to say, hundreds if not thousands of aids ended up discarded to the realms of the bedside drawer, never to be seen again… Because of the lack of NHS followup tweaking! So much so, even if I have all the facilities/equipment to tweak my aids via , its extremely rare for me to do so, never really touch the volume, rarely if ever touch the the remote, in fact, I basically leave them in the automatic program, and let them run… Stick them in the dryer every night, clean them every couple of days. I have never had a remote fitting, offered or given, via the NHS, or indeed my private A.uD, and given my reluctance for alterations, I probably never will… @Neville, loved your comment on Reiki
I practice Reiki every day of life, it gives me purpose, funny enough, Reiki is now used in lots of hospitals for pain management… Cheers Kev

I had programs added to my hearing aids in December of 2021 via a remote session. It worked very well. Saved me two hours of travel.

I have had several remote sessions with physicians which required me to cross the state line. It was worth it to travel the 20 mi ea way and save several hours to drive into the city. The physicians that don’t have a license to practice in my state make it clear when we arrange the appointment that their license isn’t good in my state and I need to be in their state. I can see this applying to licenses too.

I’m about 15mi. from the state line. When I’ve needed telemedicine appointments a nd the physicians’s license wasn’t valid in my state I went over the border and sat in either a cafe a parking lot with Wi-Fi access. Worked for me. But if you’re a long way from the border, then that’s a problem.
