ok guys i re did using this morning 3-16-23 and i did not do an ucl or mcl and of course no bc as i can’t do that. it is in the audiogram from the audi so if i need to put that in i have it so i can. but for now all i have is my audiogram and no compression. so i will see how they sound. my money tells me i have to put in compression also i did not do own voice on this setup yet and it is using the ax fit formula hope this answers the questions. i will let you know how this setting works, on the phonaks i had to do in-situ for the best results, however the ax fit may do good with the audiogram thanks

Yeah ok, so you can see that open domes in this regard is not suitable, your not meeting targets,you can see the after running the feedback test it’s limiting those higher frequencies (of course this was to be expected) but those lower frequencies look a lot better then what you had originally which was completely flat,so the issues you were having are now gone right or not?
So you can see that if you used a click sleeve or even better molds (these are vented) you’ll get those higher frequencies back, which is what you need, you could try the exact same fitting with the you have, as you’ve already posted you don’t like occlusion, but again, just to check those issues you’ve been having, and to show the difference in gain available.

And yes if you wanted you can do exactly the same in-situ fitting, my guess everything will be just a lot “louder” all round.

Talk to your audiologist about getting custom molds made up.

thanks i once had custom molds and i kept getting infections from them. and yes i wiped them every day plus they were hard to install. but maybe now they have better material, i will ask her next week.
tomorrow i will redo the fitting by awitching the first part to and put those on and see how it goes and leave the compression off. and see how they work. today i just put them on for the heck of it and i had a bit if an echo but that may go away when i switch in the program that i have them.

also i will just use the same program for now and see how it behaves, if they seem a little low in volume i can do the in-situ and see if it improves, i expect it will as the points will be a bit higher.
tomorrow i will post these adjustments for the closed domes and you can tell me what you think. for the most part the closed domes give me a bit of a plugged nose sound when i talk but if it makes the rest of the world better i can adapt.

ok this morning i change them to in-situ and let the program run turn. i have not yet changed any setting, like turn on compression etc. i just let it do its thing. it ran the AX FIT and no compression. pvc sent me a link on how to program school so i wiil go thate now and take the classes and see what i’m doing wrong.

the only reason i want to do this myself is none of the audis so far can get close to what i’m not hearing. all they say is you cha hear that correct and if you say no they again say yes you can and leave it that way

compression it looks like the program has them wanting 3 to 5k but is off for now as recommended

the only thing is i do hear a bit of a low level hiss in them when i plug my ears and i did not with yesterdays fitting. it is louder in the right ear in a quite room when i turn on the tv it may get washed out. thanks now on to pvc’s link for dyi programming school thanks pvc

You should learn what Client Sessions are before you end up with a gazillion Clients who are all Bob; (bob1, bob2, bob3, etc). Seems confusing to me.

  • You can save multiple sessions for one client
  • You can include session comments
  • Sessions are never over-written (they will always be available)
  • You can revert back to any session as a starting point

pvc i tried that and that was to confusing to me. i guess you learned it one way and know what all that is but when i look at it it is like new math and so just having new client and the date for the name works way better. the audi will not see all my new clients on her pc only the fitting that is in there now and different than her fitting. thanks

Hi there, sure but don’t forget you’ll need the correct programming device as well for projects, what models are you using at the moment.

there was some airlink 2 programmers on ebay for 50$ and you can get a program to redo the firmware. that is what i got the firmware update and the drivers for teh noah wireless programmer were free. i just checked and they are down to one, so if your interested might want to jump on that one real fast. you can get the firmware update from this site and the drivers.

ok update this morning with the in-situ fit on the aids it sound good but when i first turned them on the right ear had just a bit of a snap with the tv on and talking on the tv. at this time with the news and commercials running i do not notice it so it may be a first thing in the morning and then i get use to it.

i did got back yesterday and lower the right ear number in the low frequency’s the 125-500-750 bands from 40 down to 30 and that helped with the buzzing some

in a quite room i hear the hissing yet in both ears when i put my finger in my ear and tinnitus is turned off

so if tomorrow i still notice that loud tap/click/or however i can describe it i may go and lower the 1k from 40 to 35 and see if that works.

Might be best to just leave that for now, just leave things for a few days before making further adjustments, lowering them for this click noise isn’t the way to do this(I don’t know what it could be tho?) Because if you make adjustments in one band
(say 1000Hz) it’ll automatically change others as well.

Just be careful not to go to much, just a few at a time, you have good low frequencies
(under 1000Hz)anyway so don’t need a lot there, but just be aware that this buzzing/hissing could be “floor noise” something you won’t be able to remove, more something to get used to.

thanks i will be leaving this for now as i know then new sounds just may be a normal thing and i will need to acclimate to them. i learned that with the other set of aids. i took the axf it out and put nal-nl2 in and they are quite better now i have a bit of echo but i will leave that alone and see if i get use to that. i had it with the audi a2 months ago so we will let things ride for now. thanks

Do you mind to share your settings for the sound equlizer (music) ? Thanks

For that , a musician would be great, to help setup the equaliser in a pro way .

Hi there, great your giving a go, it’s all pretty easy enough but do read the user guides as it’s very helpful for setting up the first time.
