Oticon Own v Open S1

I currently have Oticon Open S1 and mostly I am happy. I thought it would be nice to get in the canal like the Own. I have moderate hearing loss and am due to visit my audiologist for a hearing test soon.I am wondering before hand if Oticon has changed their bluetooh handoff between devices (say an iPhone and an iPad). Currently my HAs can pair one device (at least that is what I found when I first got my Has (3 years ago).
Can Oticon Own pair and switch between two devices. For example I want to listen to, say a movie on my iPad and when I get a call I can answer it and have my HAs switch to my phone. Anyway, thanks for reading this far.

Unfortunately not.

Turn Bluetooth off on phone and turn phone off and you can connect to iPad and then you can turn phone back on but can’t connect via Bluetooth.

If you have an iPhone, solution would be WiFi calling so you can answer from your iPad.

This isn’t a huge development effort. Most (if not all) airpod like devices do exactly what I am asking for. It is part of the bluetooth spec. oh well…

To my knowledge Oticon did not change their wireless connectivity between the Opn S and the More/Own models. Handing off between devices has not come up clinically for me yet, but I can reach out to our rep to inquire. Oticon’s ConnectClip streamer may be a good option if you want to connect multiple devices via Bluetooth.

Per our rep, you would still need to turn off Bluetooth on the iPad if the same pair of hearing aids are paired with the iPhone. The hearing aids can be paired with both devices, but can only be used by one at a time. This works the same way with the more recent More/Own/Real models.

I have just ordered new Oticon Own today from my KP hearing tech.
They won’t be in until June 22 for me to trial though. Seems like a long time.
I am hoping to hear or read of present Oticon Own wearers to see what their take is on this HA. I’ve been using Oticon for many years and have worn HA for over 40 years.
Thank you for anything that you can provide.
