Our setup doesn’t use tcoil at all; I think our issues with music are due to limitations with either the transmission/reception system or how the sound board and associated sound system assemble and process the sound for transmission. The sound out of the speakers doesn’t sound at all like the sound out of the FM, and neither of those sound like what is streamed to the streaming platforms. I’m not on the sound team, and I don’t do more than ask questions (“Why do I hear an echo?” “I forgot to turn it off when they stopped playing music and he began speaking. Ooops.”)

You really should try linking your t-coil to the audio loop in your church! The sound will come straight to your ear and be terrific! If you don’t know how to access your , ask your hearing technician; it should be a specific program choice on your .

We can’t lose sight of what finally motivates us all to get hearing aids…speech. For music, we might just turn it up. Same for tv (with all the background music these days). Turning up those amplified sources might cause questions to be asked by others in the room. When those questions are asked and you say “what” just that once too often then more questions and suggestions might be given. The more often that happens the more motivated one would become to get hearing aids.
Music is secondary. No one runs out to get hearing aids because they are losing music. It’s way more important to be able to hear speech so as to be able communicate.
So music over is not required. It works fine. But it’s also straight mono. There’s no such thing as stereo with a public loop and telecoil. Maybe you have those loop ear hooks and the source for each is the left and the right as required. But that’s not what a public loop is going to be.
