TV Adapter 3.0, load new firmware

Hi all,

I have Oticon ’s and a Bernafon TVA3 (from my previous set). The Bernafon is not recognized by the Genie software updater, nor does it connect to my new HA’s.
I believe the hardware is identical, but just needs Oticon firmware installed. Correct?
Does anyone know if it is possible to load firmware in a TVA3 TV adapter? And if this Oticon firmware is available somewhere?

Can’t see the point in trying to flash the firmware on something like this, check out eBay for the Oticon version you need.

Genie 2 has the Accessories Updater feature to upgrade either the TV Adapter or the ConnectClip to a newer firmware version. You just connect the USB (charging) port of the accessory to the USB port of the laptop and open up Genie 2 and select the Accessories Updater option as seen in the screenshot below.

However, this does not solve your issue because the TV Adapter for Bernafon will not be recognized by Genie 2 as an Oticon accessory in the first place, like you’ve already alluded to earlier.

Thanx, and yes, that was my conclusion also.
So you think it is not possible to rebrand a Bernafon TVA3 to Oticon with a firmware replacement??
I will sell the Bernafon and re-buy a used Oticon then.

Sorry, it’s not obvious to me how when using the Oticon Genie 2 software. I don’t know anything about the Bernafon software to know whether it would allow you to install Oticon firmware on it or not, but most likely probably not.

There is no independent firmware “file” for the Oticon TV Adapter that you can find anyway. The firmware is integrated/built-into the Genie 2 software in the first place.
