My Genie 2 2023.2 update installation failed. Anybody successful with it?

Hi everyone, I notice that the Genie 2 Updater told me that 2023.2 is available. So I tried to update my 2023.1 to 2023.2. The download went fine, but 63% into the installation part, I noticed a “Rolling Back” message in the progress report, then at the end, it said “Installation Failed”.

It also corrupted my 2023.1 app and I could not find the executable for it anymore in the Programs File (x86) folder. However, it was still listed as an installed app in the Add & Remove Programs list. So I went in that list and Modify/Repair that Genie 2 2023.1 app. It was repaired successfully and my executable was restored and worked OK again.

So I’m just wondering if anybody has had better luck than me in updating their Genie 2 2023.1 to 2023.2 yet? Thanks.

I hadn’t noticed any update until you just mentioned it, I’m downloading now we’ll see what happens, funny enough I just got a pop up for hearsuite 2023.2 as well!

Yeah, I just got the Philips HearSuite 2023.2 notification today as well. I went ahead and did that update and it ran through successfully without any hiccups.

I tried installing the Genie 2 2023.2 again after a laptop reboot and had the same failed installation. The next round, I did not choose to select and include the Sound Studio in the update, and it went through just fine.

I don’t really know what went wrong when the Sound Studio was included in the update. Below is the first error seen in the log when it failed. Anyhow, I don’t even use the Sound Studio, so I wouldn’t miss any update in it anyway. To be honest, I don’t even know what Sound Studio does. Maybe it lets you simulate/play a variety of sounds in various environmental conditions???

By the way, in my previous post where I said I successfully updated the Philips HearSuite to 2023.2, that update did include the Sound Studio option as well. So big mystery there as to why the HearSuite Sound Studio installation went through OK, but not the Genie 2 Sound Studio for 2023.2.
