The website Audiolinks is a vendor who is selling and giving a biased view. From me a consumer, I prefer a - easy, direct connection to the hearing loop-NO equipment to checkout. In comparison, with an or system, I need to borrow a receiver and neckloop, which often fails (my experience last night).
I am waiting for with eager anticipation. However, BT LE and are not synonymous. Auracast is a subset of BT LE. Auracast specs will not be completed for 3 years. Then manufacturing and testing. Compatibility with all hearing aids. Do you think thousands of existing venues will immediately rip out and BUY a new system? nope, but probably over time. In the meantime, over many years, as a consumer I need Bluetooth (classic and LE) and .

See article by Stephen Frazier, once high up in Loop New Mexico, IIRC.
Great article by Stephen Frazier. At one point, IIRC, he was high up in Loop New Mexico. Auracast Is Actually Here and It’s Not Just About Hearing Loss — Hearing Health Foundation Frazier forecasts an 8- to 10-year span for Auracast to take over. He seems to predict earbuds, not HAs, will be the driver, and he cites the example of earbud wearers in a stadium being able to hear the play-by-play announcer clearly over the roar of the crowd as an example of the utility that will drive Auracast …

I’m not “high up” in Loop NM - I am Loop New Mexico and still a stalwart supporter of . That being said, I am also an unabashed supporter of . LoopNM.com3 currently offers information on both technologies and sofnabq.com offers many of my published articles on both technologies.

The Micro are much smaller. I think they are the smallest available. That was one reason I chose them.

Hi Steve–Glad to see your post here. A belated thanks from years ago when I was new and enthusiastic about ! You were a trusted adviser. I’m still here (well, there–now in CA) and still wearing HAs with satisfaction. All the best!! --Melinda

My new Jabra Enhanced Pro 20 hearing aids have rather than . When this technology becomes available, how will I be able to use the system? Will my hearing aids just automatically pick up the Auracast signal? Will I have to buy some kind of accessory to use it?
If they had Telecoil, how does one use it? I have only been using hearing aids for a few weeks.

How to use ? There’s no answer yet. We (users) want direct to hearing aid connectivity for simplicity and ease of use (no intermediary device). That’s the beauty of inside the hearing aid (not a remote mic) - direct connectivity. We expect the same for Auracast to be fully accessible. We must demand direct /Auracast connectivity from the hearing aid manufacturers!

Re for the newer Jabras. . . if you have the external mic, MultiMic, the T-coil is therein and can easily be connected. You can read on the website how to do. I haven’t used in awhile, so won’t attempt to explain here, but it’s easy. Jabra website will show you how on YouTube.

I noticed that the Jabra 20’s have two versions, the Micro RIE and RIE 13. Other than one having rechargeable batteries and the other replaceable, what other differences are there?
Why start a new thread when there are already several on the Pro 20s?
I wanted to ask the same question about the Jabra Enhance Pro 30’s. I can revive this thread, which will bother some people or start a new thread which will bother others. My apologies to both groups.
I see 2 models:
- Jabra Enhance Pro 30 Micro Receiver-in-Ear 60S Rechargeable
- Jabra Enhance Pro 30 Receiver-in-Ear 62
I was initially considering the 62 because I would prefer batteries. What I think that I am seeing in the literature is a much larger difference. If I am reading it right the 60S Rechargeable has the chip. To me this difference seems huge, analogous to a specific make and model of a vehicle being available in both 2 wheel drive and all wheel drive.
The thing is, Jabra does not seem to be doing a great job at explaining the differences.
Can you help?

My understanding the reason is, the chip is quite hungry for power. So you would probably need to change the 13 battery every couple of days.
