Comparing Oticon’s More 1 vs Intent 1

My Opn S aids are sensitive to moisture. I did a lot of walking last summer around sunset when it was still 100 degrees. I’d walk a few miles and partway through my walk the left hearing aid would suddenly stop working. No error tones- just dead. When i got home and cooled off, the hearing aid came back to life.

This also happened to me a few weeks ago after doing close to an hour on the treadmill in an air conditionef gym.

I like the poster’s idea and will do that too when i eventually replace these hearing aids.

A few updates after my last post. Over a 33-day period using the following programs in the 4 available slots: P1 with DSL v5a pediatric fitting rationale, a lecture program based on P1, and two music programs, hrre are some interesting observations:

1 – Listening environments (per Genie):

• Complex Environments – 44%
• Moderate Environments – 33%
• Simple Environments – 23%

I would never have guessed this distribution. During this time, I had two days at the airport, two days of long road trips, plus the occasional restaurant or mall visit. Other than that, I would have assumed my environment was mostly moderate at worst.

2 – Usage: I wore my hearing aids an average of 13 hours and 25 minutes per day. They went back into the charger each night with at least 40% battery remaining — and these are 14-month-old batteries.

3 – Program usage: Out of those 13 hours and 25 minutes,

• 12 hours and 21 minutes were in P1
• 55 minutes in my music program for headphones
• 16 minutes in my music program for guitars

It turned out I never used the lecture program at all.

4 – The screenshot below shows my MoreSound Intelligence configuration for my P1.

5 – Apart from one or two minor wax issues with the filters, I had no trouble hearing people at all. I’m very happy with P1 and the Intents 1 — I hear very well with them, and they give me a lot of confidence to interact with people in any situation.
