Tobin Frost. “Safe House”. Just watched it last night. Good to have a Plan B!
I guess mine is MOVE TO NEW ZEALAND - If anything inspires me to become a Phonak DIYer it’s that possibility.

I agree the sound is bad but who cares? As long as you can hear… It’s not like we’ve got so many other options beside, maybe… The Infinio Sphere, which takes me back to the ORIGINAL TOPIC!

Yeah, you gotta point there! And my apologies for taking this thread on the Sphere into a different orbit. ![]()

I am currently trialling Sphere in the UK. My audiologist tells me that the new Sphere is incompatible with Roger v2- and that I need to purchase the new Roger v3.
The Sphere is also unable to connect to a loop system, but this isn’t something I have tried previously.
So far, the Sphere HA is impressive. The results aren’t as miraculous as some reviewers suggest, but as a general HA they are an improvement on my previous Phonak; the Sphere mode is a significant improvement- although comprehension in a noisy environment remains a struggle as I found in the pub last night (but at least I know someone is trying to speak to me now, rather than everything being hidden in mush!).
My hearing loss is severe; I only use one HA as my other ear is profoundly deaf.
Sphere seems to offer an improvement, though the inevitable drift towards an implant remains the likely ultimate result for me.

This is BS. Plain and simple. They are compatible with any of the Rogers given the proper receiver license.

Agree completely with WH!! I have both Roger On V2 and the original V1 and they are completely compatible with the Sphere. To get the most utility from the Sphere and Roger, you should upgrade the firmware in your V2 and in your MyRoger app. I don’t believe there is much or any difference between the V2 and the Roger 3 except possibly how you obtain additional free licenses when needed.

@nglfriend My Roger’s ON do function normally with my Spheres. What does your audiologist mean with that?
I bet the v3 will cost a lot more and apart from more then 10 licenses didn’t hear unti now it would function better.
My impression in comparance of Roger use vs Sphere is that the Roger is more useful if you don’t have Sphere functionality.

@DamonHill, see ~10 first posts on this topic (first Sphere review on this forum, by @pproducts):
Hi New to the group but here are my thoughts on the Sphere 90 version. I have been using the trials for a few days and have been testing them everywhere I can. They are hands down the best aids I have tried. I am currently using power domes to get the full effect. I have been wearing them about 14 or 15 hours a day and still have 50% battery life left. Give them a try I think for those that are in loud environments a lot it will really help. Below are some of the comments I sent to my Audi…
- At church today in a small group environment, they worked much better than the Roger On.
I am quite surprised. I thought Roger On, which can provide a +20 dB SNR, is unsurpassable compared to AI with a declared +10 dB signal-to-noise ratio.
Good thread there.

While walking on a very busy street with 3 persons I used my Roger On to see if I could hear better then whit my Spheres alone. Pointing to the person I would like to hear with my Roger On gave me a lot much better understanding from what she was saying.

Thanks Emile!
But are you sure that, in that street, the Sphere mode was operating? Cause traffic noise shouldn’t be not so loud to activate that mode (which activates by default at 70db I think)…

@DamonHill
No sorry I’m not sure as then I have to go in the app to look at the settings. For that it is to crowdy and dangerous as well as complicated. But although I’m very content with my Spheres, as I can really hear a lot better than f.i. with my Paradise P90’s under difficult circumstances, I think my Roger still has some additional profits.
And about the ’s it is thru that it sets itself in automatic mode above the 70 dB. So that’s why I also made an extra program for Sphere mode to use in the app. And I also use a dB meter on my phone to check what happens. But at that time I didn’t. Still I assume that the noise will at least be around or maybe just under the 70dB.

Trying to parse Roger operations.
Just got the Roger On iN V2
Installed the Roger upgrader V1.30 i think.
Updated the firmware … but not sure if there is a way to upgrade to V3 ?
Thought I read somewhere that v2-v3 is firmware upgradeable - Anyone know how, where, or IF?
My V2s are paired and working with my Sphere . BUT I am sure if I should be seeing them in the Target 10.0.1 software? Target does list or show, the exact Roger model. None of the photo sketches look like my Roger.
Also, I would like to ask for help in deciding how best to use the Cradle ?
Should I use it to replace the TV Adapter, or the USB Transmitter from my computer?
Can the Roger be used to stream to Non HA wearer USB headphone or buds ?
Licenses are another confusion to me… is that about additional microphone modules…
You mean like when you are at a 657 person event, and you need to bring 655 microphones, or do you only need 653 because the Roger itself has four mics?
So you have to pay for those 653 additional mics? Oh, but there is a limit increase with the V3?
I need to resume my real work and just trying to get a feel for the product, so I can decide if I want to keep or return the Roger.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

That is it. You can’t take a V2 and make it a V3. But your V2 can do everything the V3 can, except shoot licenses like a western.

For non- wearers, get a neck loop. The neck loop can receive from the Roger, and use 3.5mm jack to send to however they want to listen. There is a headphone jack on the neck loop body to plug in headphones.

If you got a V3, there will be enough licenses for all. They can all pair to the one mic. btw, the “4 mics” are synthetically merged into one audio stream, and the device uses those mics to work beam-forming magic to work directionality. If your 650 folk can be near enough to the mic to receive they can all hear. They each need a license in each aid. (they could use one, but then they could only hear in that one…) A V3 shoots licenses all day. Add licenses and pair at the same time. That will take a minute or two, but there is no reason it couldn’t be done.
Hope this helps!

Fast and Good WhiteHat !
Thank you!
So I don’t need V3.
I think you had said it behaves similar to , but or 2.4gH.
The neck loop comes in multiple flavors as well? Is an old used one just as good?
But the actual device’s name is NeckLoop, not the same as the old ComPilot that has a neck loop - right?
Why am I missing my Roger device show in Target, and if it did, what settings would be possible there?
You’re ignoring this member’s posts.
similar to Auracast, but FM or 2.4gH.
It is all on 2.4 ghz. Except “fm” which can be almost anywhere on the freq spectrum. It isn’t connection based, if that is what you mean.
The neck loop needs to be a Roger neck loop. You aren’t using loop tech, but rather the Roger receiver in the neck loop.
I can’t help you with the target. There are two relevant things you could be talking about, the mic proper, and the Roger program in the . But I’d be no help with either. You’d need to have the Roger usb connected to the target computer to do anything with it though.
