After consulting your Audiologist, was the problem solved after the Xceed returned from repair? What did the Audiologist do? Or is the problem on going despite turning off 2.4GHz and using Rayovac batteries? : )

Hi @Jaxi I have posted this update elsewhere, but no the problem was never resolved. I switched back to Phonak, and I have not had a single random reboot since. And I am very glad I did. And sad that I spent $5,000 on a paper weight pair of aids that are crap for me. I also went back to my Phonak audiologist after such a terrible experience with the other one.
For me, a $5,000 set of aids should not have random reboots.

Thank you for your reply @codergeek2015 . A shame that it was never resolved. I really wonder what the trigger was if Oticon were unable to detect it and you’ve done some troubleshooting around your home yourself. It has to be something to prompt it.

I sometimes have reboots due to weak signal and nearby interference. For example, I turn on music on my iPhone, put it at the end of the hallway, walk 7-8 meters away, and walk past the router. There are almost always reboots in this situation.

That’s the thing - I did all the troubleshooting. I:
Wondered if my wi-fi router could have been causing it. So, I changed channels multiple times to see if that would not cause further interference. That worked temporarily, but then it did not work and random reboots continued getting worse.
Would always be disconnected - on unit pair 1 the unit and main hearing aid would disconnect from each other during every Costco trip and I would not always realize it until I got home, tap the CROS unit’s speakers, and find out it had not been functioning for some time. When I swapped out Unit pair 1 for Unit pair 2 (their loaner), the problem of disconnecting at Costco was eliminated but I still experienced the reboot issue. I still experienced the reboot issue when I finally got my warranty replacements but then the reboot issue kept getting worse and worse the more I used the hearing aid and CROS units.
Experienced the same issue on their loaner unit while mine (both main hearing aid and CROS) were being swapped out for a new one. Although less, the more I used it the worse it became.
Experienced rapid deterioration of the aids as I continued using them. By the time I got my Phonaks back, my Oticons were rebooting randomly on average 3 times per day. Minimum.
Finally had enough and switched back to Phonak. There are too many problems with Oticon for me to continue with the brand based on my experience.

Sounds like you’ve done quite a thorough investigation. This is even more intriguing that it happened to loaners too. Then surely you can’t be the only one experiencing this issue. But I’m glad to hear that you’ve found something that works for you. : )

@Jaxi - The biggest issue I am facing now is that I am wearing my Naida B 90 plus . I was going to purchase a pair of Naida P 90 plus CROS but that’s out because of Phonak’s discontinuation of that model.
The good news, though, is that the Lumity Naida L-90 plus CROS might work because I am borderline on the threshold between Power and UP. My audiologist has suggested this as an alternative (but not if my right ear’s hearing gets much worse) because no further CROS units for M, P, or I are on the horizon so I might take him up on that when it comes time to buy new hearing aids in a month or two.
I don’t like the rechargeable form factor but if that’s the way everything is going I might as well get used to it while I am young enough to do so. The opportunity is also there to take advantage of the Infinio (non-Sphere). I would simply need to get a new custom earmold. The only thing that my audiologist is concerned about is the different signal in the Audeo line but there is no physical reason I can’t take advantage of it. I can always return it if I don’t like how it works for my loss since I have always preferred the more linear signal and requested him to turn off all the fancy noise reduction, etc.
My thinking is if I have to get used to new signals and hearing through the Audeo line I might as well take advantage of it while I am young enough to do so.

That is great news with the Lumity Naida L-90. It’s good to have options out there and better if there were more. But completely understand how they’re already trying to release new models as they become available. Hopefully there are newer options soon though but I guess sometimes we can’t keep waiting for the next release otherwise we’d be forever waiting : )
