I have had my Paradise Receivers changed from 4.0 to 5.0
They use Cerustop waxguards.
My dispensing Audi used to provide the domes in unmarked bags.
Will 4.0 domes fit on the new 5.0 power receivers?

When my Hearing Instrument Specialist changed me from 4.0 Power Receivers to 5.0 Receivers, he provided Resound .
The vents are so tiny they are hard to see.
I changed the two closed vents to Phonak vents this morning. The two vents in each dome are at least twice as big as the Resound closed dome vents
It makes a difference.
My hearing aids with Resound closed vents are so loud!
Everything is loud!
How can having tiny vents in closed domes make them so loud

Is this occlusion?
I live in the Toronto Airport flight path. When I did this aircraft were taking off. Noise level was about 70 . It’s worse when they are on final landing. Noise level outside may be 75 dB or more.
With the tiny vents in the he provided my hearing aids are uncomfortable.
The Phonak closed domes with 2 larger domes they are much more comfortable
He set my Phonak Audeo Paradise P90Rs up for closed domes. I’ve had these settings since early October.
Blows my mind that waxguards, domes and done vent size change my hearing aid sound so much!
Paradise P90 Rs
5.0 Power Vents
Phonak Closed Domes.
My first hearing aid was a Widex in the ear. I used it for 10!years. It literally hurt. I don’t want custom earpieces
And I never want to go back to the awful 4.0 receivers and awful waxguards

Same domes fit on the 4.0 and 5.0 receivers.
So you normally wear these domes:

And now you are using these domes?:

They aren’t that different, but maybe they are fitting in your ears differently. Which domes were used for ?
Custom tips don’t have to hurt and a previous experience with painful customs does not necessitate a future painful experience. There are a lot of benefits to custom tips.
Re: Is it occlusion? If you turn the hearing aids off (long press on volume down button until you see a red light) and put them in your ears, are you getting loud/boomy sounds on your own voice, crunching, internal noises? (Turn hearing aids back on with another long press until you get a green light or but popping them back into the charger.)

Hi Neville!
He used ReSound GN with two tiny tiny vents for .
The old Phonak closed domes have 2 vents too. The vents are each at least twice as big if I stick an index finger in each ear the Phonak domes are now louder.
I have some domes for the old 4.0 Power Receivers. I really thought those domes didn’t fit on the 5.0 Power Receiver.

I just put 2 brand new Phonak 4.0 with 2 vents
Turned my hearing aids off.
Put a finger in each ear. Can’t hear a thing. Talked. Couldn’t hear what I said really. My hearing is really bad
Turned hearing aids back on.
I do like the Phonak 4.0 closed domes. I think they are better made than Resound. Seal better.

I do like the Phonak 4.0 closed domes. . . Seal better.
So, probably not occlusion from what you’re saying. If the phonak domes seal your ears better then they are probably just preventing more low frequency venting and so you are getting more low frequency gain. If was done with the resound domes, then that is your prescription.
