I can understand that a ComPilot design doesn’t help, but ultimately it’s the people who cause the problem and not the design.
I used the Compilot for years, it connected me to my house portable and my Samsung S20, the I had to upgrade the Ha’s, tried Resound, the problem with them was the delay when kicked in, it was to long and I did not hearing any of the notices my phone was sending, it also required a clip receiver, more trouble than the Compilot, so with my P70 It’s hands free on the Samsung, but I have to use the Tcoil to use the house portables, that’s ok, I then advised all callers that were important to call my cell not the house phone, I also configured my cell with Wifi calling eliminating signal issues with cell reception, this works great. (for now) My 2c’s.

I would like to correct something that someone said above that if you use the Samsung Galaxy S23 it will work hands free. Though I know of one person on this forum that this is true for. My S23+ will not provide 2-way bluetooth. I must have the phone in hand to answer, to hang up, and to be heard by the person on the other end of the line. Today, I met with my audiologist who has spoken with Oticon, as well as spoken with Oticon Consumer tech support, and Oticon says that none of the Samsung Galaxy phones are supported by Oticon for 2-way blue tooth. They were not surprised that it worked on some phones, but they said Samsung phones are completely inconsistent. The only Android phones that they listed as working were any of the Google Pixel 7 series (and I assume that meant Pixel 7 and newer.) I am going to give up on my Oticons (still in my return period) and try the Phonak. If I don’t like the sound, I’ll give up on Samsung and try the Pixels. Worth noting, tech support at Samsung said I was the first complaint about their LE audio not working with Oticon. Hard to believe, though I am sure that is the best that they knew. I filed an error report with the Samsung Members app this evening. I’ll see if anything comes of that.

Here in Canada, Samsung phones are non-starters for any Bluetooth applications. Dr. Cliff Olson recently did a review of the new Starkey Edge . He mentions in the review that the Edge refused to connect to his Samsung S23, even though the same phone connects fine to the Oticon Intent, both using LE Audio. So yeah, it’s just hit or miss.
Oticon’s current list as of Oct 2024:

I have the S23 Ultra and the Jabra Enhance Pro 20s. works great for me and I would not want to be without it. My partner has the S24 Ultra and she has more issues. In particular when using WhatsApp to talk to me when she was out of the country she had to turn Bluetooth off and on quite a bit to use Bluetooth and not her phone speakers. LE Audio its self worked though.
I had issues before One UI 6.1 but now it is working well.
I hope it continues to develop as it is a great feature.
My next laptop which is older now will have LE Audio as well as my TV.
I am excited about the development of as well.

Captain Trips, Thanks for that information, Would I be correct to assume that the pro’s are all fine?

Well here in the good old USA my Samsung S23 is working great with my INTENT1 aids using le audio. I have full hands free calls. The streaming sound is great. No one has ever complained about how I sound and i have had phone conversations with my phone in a different room than what I in.

I have a Pixel 4a that I bought at Amazon for $169. It is a great phone that blue-tooths fine to my Signia . You only need an expensive phone if you want to fly to mars. Try it. You can return it if it doesn’t work.

Well some folks want hands-free calling today, and will be a big deal to others going forward.
So if your old phone works for your needs, then keep it.
But understand you are giving up security updates. For folks doing banking without security updates, good luck.

I am having such good connectivity with my Samsung S23 phone and Oticon INTENT1 aids and even the companion app that with the up coming Samsung OneUI 7 I am afraid to update my phone. From what I can determine at about the end of February is when the Android 15 with OneUI 7 will be available for download. I even have full hands free calling, something that so many are saying they can’t get to work. Even Oticon admits that it isn’t working for most users.
